The borrower has contacted me 3 times and has demanded that I increase the appraised value of his home so that he can refinance his house. That is illegal, immoral and unethical. I responded to his first request in writing which is the only way I could respond. The borrower has...
recourse such as obtaining a Review Appraisal. He refused. The borrower has never paid me $450. I am an independent fee appraiser for an [redacted]). The borrower paid the [redacted], not me. Any refund will have to come from the [redacted]. Appraisal fees are not contingent on hitting a value so that the borrower's deal will work. The borrower then began to harass me with a very nasty email and phone call. The borrower then threatened to report me if I didn't increase his appraisal value. Everything the borrower has done after the 1st request is against State Law. I now plan to sue the borrower for appraiser intimidation and coercion. The borrower should be ashamed of himself for threatening an appraiser and trying to manipulate his appraisal value. Any person with good common sense would understand that an appraisal may or may not support your loan requirement. The borrower has provided no additional comps or information to support any revision to the appraisal. He just wants a higher value, period. It is against the law for me to manipulate the appraisal value to suit his needs. The borrower would not take "no" for an answer and expects a refund since his target value wasn't hit. The borrower has absolutely no morals and is basically a criminal. The borrower basically want to cheat his Lender with a false appraisal. I would gladly refund his appraisal fee just to stop the harassment. Again, the borrower never paid me for anything. Again, I plan to sue the borrower for $10k for trying to damage my reputation as revenge for not hitting his target appraisal value. Anyone with good common sense, the borrower has none, would clearly see what is going on with this complaint. It is a complete sham complete with false statements.
