To whom it may concern, Thank you for your notification on January 24th, that a student was displeased in Spring with our support in arranging for financial aid and the student alleging they were dismissed from schoolAs with many educational institutions, the rules for financial aid are determined by the state and federal government and can be challenging to navigate Upon receipt of your letter, we researched this complaint and found that our Spring records indicated that we could not proceed with establishing financial aid support without the student submitting the required IRS tax transcriptOur policy is to arm every student with the necessary resources to obtain that document, however it is their sole responsibility to provide this verification document to the College In addition to the complaint regarding financial aid, we also would like to address the claim this student made regarding being dismissed from campus Spring mid-termIt is not our policy to dismiss any student in the middle of the semester due to billing concernsStandard practice would have had the College send a letter to the student at the end of the Spring semester, and registration for the following term could not be completed until the bill has been addressed or arrangements made with our business office It is unfortunate and understandable that the student reported feeling discouraged, however it is the policy of the college that the responsibility lies on the student to provide proper documentation when requested for the federal governmentWithout it, the College could not more the student forward in the financial aid process Again, we thank you for bringing this to our attention and allowing us to research the issue Sincerely, DrSteve [redacted] President

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me since we resolved the issue, but I had to change my mayor to be able to qualify and receive my tapThat's the only solution they could bring to the table and I accepted it due to the need of economic needs to make it to school Regards, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. North Country Community College indeed sent me a letter way before spring semester telling me I was unable to return to classes! The fact that you just lied and said that you would never send a letter is hilarious!! I was discouraged that I couldn't get the help I needed to get the copy of the IRS transcript that I asked so many times forI emailed financial aide and went to the Malone office multiple times to fi this issue with my financial aideThey refused to help me and I am now the one at faultThis is absolutely ridiculous and I will NOT be responsible for a semesters tuition when I only went to classes for weeks! The fact that you ask someone to pay a full semester after not letting them come to class is appallingI am not happy at all and I will take matters as far as small claims court if I have toI have all means of proof including the letter you sent me telling me I couldn't return to class weeks in to the semesterRegards, *** ***

Thank you for the notification on October 28th, that a student was disappointed with ourhandling of their advisement, which had consequences for the amount of financial aid they couldreceiveAs in other areas of business, the rules for financial aid are determined by the state andfederal
government and it can be challenging for students and their advisors to navigate the system. After receiving your letter, we reached out to the student and provided her with additional academicadvisement which allowed us to rectify an earlier mistake and her aid was restoredWe believe thatthis was a very positive outcome for all parties.Again, we thank you for bringing this to our attention and allowing us to resolve the issue directly.Sincerely yours,Joe K***Interim Vice President for Academic AffairsNorth Country Community CollegeSantanoni AveSaranac Lake, NY 12983-

To whom it may concern,  Thank you for your notification on January 24th, 2017 that a student was displeased in Spring 2016 with  our support in arranging for financial aid and the student alleging they were dismissed from school. As with many educational institutions, the rules for...

financial aid are determined by the state and federal government and can be challenging to navigate.  Upon receipt of your letter, we researched this complaint and found that our Spring 2016 records  indicated that we could not proceed with establishing financial aid support without the student  submitting the required IRS tax transcript. Our policy is to arm every student with the necessary  resources to obtain that document, however it is their sole responsibility to provide this verification  document to the College.  In addition to the complaint regarding financial aid, we also would like to address the claim this student  made regarding being dismissed from campus Spring 2016 mid-term. It is not our policy to dismiss any  student in the middle of the semester due to billing concerns. Standard practice would have had the  College send a letter to the student at the end of the Spring 2016 semester, and registration for the following term could not be completed until the bill has been addressed or arrangements made with our  business office.  It is unfortunate and understandable that the student reported feeling discouraged, however it is the  policy of the college that the responsibility lies on the student to provide proper documentation when  requested for the federal government. Without it, the College could not more the student forward in  the financial aid process.  Again, we thank you for bringing this to our attention and allowing us to research the issue.   Sincerely,  Dr. Steve [redacted]  President
