North County Firearms Reviews (2)

[redacted]North County Shooting Center, Inc.DBA North County Firearms.120 N. Pacific Street Unit C1San Marcos, Ca 92069. To whom it may concern at the Revdex.com,I have reviewed the claim made against my gun shop by [redacted], and it is without merit.[redacted] came into my shop in July of 2016...

and requested an inexpensive shotgun he was planning to use for Trap shooting in the local area. Both myself, and my store manager, who is very active with the Trap program at EF&G, suggested the Mossberg Silver Reserve that we routinely carry for sale in our store. [redacted] requested the exact model that we supplied him.Within short order, [redacted] called us to complain about functional issues in the shotgun, and I worked him through the warranty process with Mossberg. At that time, [redacted] started also complaining about how his shooting buddies were “making fun of him” for using such an inexpensive entry level Mossberg shotgun. I informed [redacted] that the Mossberg Silver Reserve he purchased was one of the best shotguns for his purpose selling under $1000. In fact if anyone cares to do a google search of exactly that question, the Mossberg Silver Reserve Shotgun that [redacted] purchased routinely comes up in either the number one spot or the number two spot on that nationwide search.Mossberg made quick work of resolving [redacted]’s functional complaint, and the calls from [redacted] resumed at my shop. He was still very unhappy with the fact that his shotgun was the reason he could not hit clay birds in his trap sessions.I informed [redacted] that the shotgun was most likely not the issue, but I would work with him in applying the actual purchase price, of $739.95, toward the purchase of another shotgun. This offer was extremely generous of us, as the shotgun is now very clearly used, a fact which we would have to disclose to any future buyer of the shotgun.I then heard absolutely nothing from [redacted] for 29 days. After the 29 days had passed, [redacted] entered my shop and demanded a refund of his purchase price. He informed me that even though he had asked for that exact model, I should have talked him out of it.I was not agitated with [redacted] until he got very loud and disruptive in my store. This all occurred in front of several other customers, and created an uneasy buying environment for others in the shop.[redacted] loudly called me “Unscrupulous, a poor business man, and a thief”. After that verbal abuse, I returned the shotgun to [redacted], and demanded he leave my premises at once.[redacted] is not welcome back into my store. North County Firearms has considered this issue closed since [redacted] negotiated a resolution, then disappeared for almost a month, and stormed into my store demanding all his money back.I greatly appreciate the Revdex.com, and the platform that they offer both the customer, and the business owner. North County Firearms prides itself on over five years in business, with a stellar feedback rating. Our goal is to provide customers with the best products for the best possible price. I apologize that the Revdex.com had to be involved in this matter, but thank you for your time.If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Best regards, [redacted]Thanks,[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
February 7, 2017 To Whom it May Concern:   First, I just want to say that [redacted] has responded to my complaint in a very dishonest fashion.  Most of his major points are total fabrications and contain very little truth. I went into the store and was helped by [redacted] who happened to be sitting behind one of the counters at that moment.  I basically told him I was looking for a lower end TRAP shotgun.  The word TRAP is important because a trap shotgun works a little bit different then a FIELD shotgun which is what [redacted] sold me.  He should never have sold me on the Field gun once I told him what I wanted the gun for (Trap shooting only). He could have sold me the Mossberg Silver Reserve Competition TRAP shotgun for about $1150 and everything would have been fine.  The fact is, he apparently didn't have one in stock and the gun he showed me had been there for several months.  [redacted] seemed to be trustworthy and I listened to what he told me about the gun he wanted to sell me and I felt then, after listening to him that the gun would work for me.  When I went to the Trap shooting range, the Trap shooting guys made various comments, such as "he sold you a gun he wanted to get rid of",  "That is a FIELD gun, not a TRAP gun.  A FIELD gun shots flat where as a TRAP gun has a build in lead and does not shoot flat", "where is your back sight bead? All trap guns have two beads so you can determine you are looking down the barrel properly".  The California State Trap Shooting Champion told me later that 95% of my shooting problems were because I have a FIELD gun not a TRAP gun. I never raised my voice in the Gun Shop that day.  I never called [redacted] any names at all, even though I realized I was dealing with a dishonest person. I was never offered $739.50, I was offered on the phone about a month before I went in $650.00 which is what I went in to get that day.  However, the $650 was supposed to be a cash refund.  When I got there that day he said he would apply the $650 towards another gun.  I didn't want another gun because I no longer trusted the man.  He would not give me the $650 and when he realized I wasn't buyiong anothe gun from him he rudely shoved the gun I was returning back at me and excused himself.  I never said another word, I knew there was no point in continuing any dialogue. I am a retired U.S. Coast Guard LCDR and I don't call people names and I don't deal with dishonest people once I understand who they are. I would accept the $739.95 as a cash refund or as credit towards a Mossberg Silver Reserve Competition Trap Shotgun which is what [redacted] should have sold me in the first place.   Regards,   [redacted]
