North End Cycle Shop Reviews (%countItem)

My son took his motorcycle to North End Cycle for service. He needed a new back tire, should not have been a big deal. The service dept. was working on his bike, at one point, came out asking for his key commenting about an issue. they later bring him his bike, telling him it's fine.He then pays for the service, and expecting that he ha d received a professional, top quality service, headed out on the road.He later meets up with me in Missouri, then follows me too his nephew's birthday party in New Franklin,Mo. After the party, everyone was looking at Devin's bike.Right away The older riders in the family noticed a serious problem! When the shop put the wheel back on the bike, the axle was improperly reinstalled,it is half in, half out(not flush)it is completely cross-threaded and pretty well fused now! Since they let my son leave their shop with his axle in that condition...riding it like that caused multiple cracks in the swing arm (the part that holds the wheel on the motorcycle) Honestly I am amazed it held together. We had to load it up in my pick up truck and haul it to my home where it has been sitting since April.I have made MANY attempts to resolve this matter with Jason L from the service department, after 6 months,he has not made this right and avoids me and cannot seem to return my phone calls.

The aforementioned bike was worked on as stated. The customer left after the work was performed and was ridden 800+ miles without incident. The customer's mother contacted us stating that we owed her and her son a swingarm and axle due to cracking of the swingarm and axle damage. After researching the issue, we found many many swingarms out there with the same cracks in them that Mrs. was describing. This tells us that the cracks are a design flaw, not something we created. That being said, we understand that we are the last to work on it and offered a "Goodwill gesture" of sending them a used swingarm and axle in good condition once we were able to acquire one. We have been searching the nation and even outside of the nation for a reasonable used swingarm in good condition and have struggled to find one. She has demanded new components and we have declined to do so as we are doing all of this out of goodwill. At this point we still intend to provide her and her son with a quality used swingarm and we already have a new axle ready to send to her. We will not provide a new swingarm.

Hi ***

I talked with you late last week regarding the fact that the complaint notices were going to the wrong email and we got that resolved. I then tried to go to the complaint link that you sent me and it looks like I can’t respond anymore. I called and spoke with *** and she informed me you are out today. She instructed me to email my response to the customer’s (***) rebuttal directly to you. Our response is as follows:

As stated in our original reply, we don’t believe we are at fault for “cracks in the swingarm”, but in a goodwill gesture, we would be willing to find a quality used swingarm to try to help you out since we were the last to work on the machine. This is what we stand by. We are still willing to offer you a quality used swingarm and axle as soon as such items can be located. If this is not satisfactory, then we retract any and all offers.

Thanks,

Jason L

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Thank you.

My friend is mentally disabled and he rides a motorcycle with a handicap plates on the back. He took his motorcycle into North End Cycle and they told us we needed to buy a wiring harness. Well we purchased one off of eBay for $84 and took it in there and they said it was the wrong wiring harness. So we bought the OEM version for $245.15. Sure enough it match perfectly with the one they said did not even fit. When I respectfully complain to the woman who told us all of this she raised her voice, told me I was so full of *** and she put her hand in my face. All the while I was being perfectly respectful. North End Cycle cheats their customers and takes advantage of mentally ill people. They even told me I should try to take the part back to eBay even though the gentleman that sold it to us sold us the correct part! After complaining to their administrative office we have not received a call back. Yes they are an accredited Revdex.com business with an A+ rating.

I spoke with Mr. T regarding the situation and dove into the issue. We found that the wire harnesses did not match and the new harness would work. I then spoke with Mr. T and the customer that owns the bike and let them know we would be able to help them with the repair. At that point, all parties agreed that we were good to move forward and continue a good working business relationship.
