Aloha [redacted],Thank you for returning my call and providing your email information. After reviewing patient, [redacted]’s account, with the billing office here at NHCH and all billing notes, I can tell you that we have no documentation that the patient called initially to set payment arrangements...
about her bill. Patient billing occurs after insurance has paid or if there is no insurance on file. Patients are sent their bill and if they need to set up some type of payment arrangement, they need to contact the billing office. This information is on the statement. We do not set up arrangements by letter or by the patient just sending in a certain amount each month on their own. Our patient collections is outsourced and formal arrangements must be made and this company. Carepayment sets the payment amounts and the patient has to agree to their terms of conditions. If the patient does not call to arrange this with us and Carepayment, the patient is then referred to collections after certain period of time due to non-payment of entire amount due. This account was reviewed by Revenue Cycle Department on 1/15/2016 and then pulled from collections on 2/2/2013. Patient’s balance of $535.84 was then placed with Carepayment on 2/3/2016 with patient agreement. If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to give me a call.Mahalo nui!Julia M[redacted]Business Administrator Ambulatory Services-Patient Access[redacted]
