North Hills Veterinary Clinic, Inc. Reviews (1)

On May 8, 2015 I contacted North Hills Veterinary Clinic, which I had taken my pets to in the past, (approximately 2 other times with a [redacted], who is the veterinarian.) When I contacted them I told them that my pet had been limping, and if I could bring him in to be seen. I explained that we had an appointment on May 15th 2015, but if they could get me in it would be great, and that both my dogs were going to need to come in because the May 15th appointment was for both of them. I also explained that I would have help on May 8th as I am in a wheel chair and need someone to be able to go with me to help. They said that would be fine and made the appointment for 1:40 that afternoon. I arrived for my appointment at 1:30 as they had asked me to do. When I was called to bring the dogs back I could tell something wasn't right, but went about bring the dogs back. [redacted] and her assistant came into the office abruptly and said her and her assistant were taking the dog to do a heart worm test that they would be back. Instead of her and her assistant coming back, another assistant came in and said, and I'm not lie, "Is this yours?" Referring to our tiny dog in his arm. He then said, "I don't know what's going on, I was told to take another one." Referring to our other dog we had taken in as well. The whole visit was absolutely ridiculous. I would not feel safe taking another animal here. I have no idea what they did to our little dog when they took him back. He came back in the room with a foaming mouth and very scared and nervous. I tried to continue with the visit asking questions about my small dog. The visit only got more and more suspicious and condescending, and when I asked about a med. she had prescribed in the past [redacted] got very defensive and asked us to leave. All she did was laugh and laugh as we left. Their is more to this complaint, but no more room to write.Product_Or_Service: treatment of petsDesired SettlementI don't expect to have to pay for anything, as I did not get the services I had gone there to receive, and was told to leave. I also believe this facility and [redacted] should be investigated, as to why when [redacted] is being asked questions she becomes aggravated, agitated, and defensive!!! Business Response On May 15, 2015, the consult at with the [redacted] family started with taking [redacted] and [redacted], one pet at a time, to the treatment area for heartworm tests. The first pet [redacted], was in for several concerns such as lameness of the front left paw, a heartworm test for a heartworm prevention refill, and vaccines. One assistant was in the room while another helped with transferring each pet back into the room. The transporting assistant verbally confirmed that he was in the right room with the correct owners before taking [redacted] to the treatment area for her heartworm test. Since there was no visible limp or swelling with [redacted]'s exam, the owners declined pain medication. Before the doctor could examine [redacted], she was asked if she would refill Albon, an antibiotic for coccidian, intestinal infections or diarrhea. There was no complaint of diarrhea or GI upset today, so that request was declined. As a veterinarian, there is a moral obligation to send home medication relevant to the reasons for examination. At this exam, there was not a GI issue or diarrhea. Both Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] were upset the doctor would not dispense Albon. Mr. [redacted] was frustrated and said that he," felt he needed to leave the room." The doctor's comment was, "that is a good idea." This comment was intended to diffuse the situation, but instead was taken as a request to leave the clinic. We apologize for the miscommunications and the [redacted] family's dissatisfaction with the service they received.North Hills Veterinary Clinic has contacted the [redacted] family and attempted to repair the relationship. We are willing to write off these charges, even though the vaccination and heartworm tests were administered. We strive for customer satisfaction and apologize that they feel we didn't provide that. We hope that the [redacted] Family can find great care wherever they choose to stay for veterinary services. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I was pleased that the owner accepted the resolution of writing of any charges for the MAY 8th 2015 appointment. when the owner called she apologized for her employees action and statement " its NOT what they want". It seems that the story seems to be incorrect. We never asked for pain medication I'm not a wealthy man so why would I be asking for these medication. The reason Albon was brought up was for the simple fact that the medications had run out and were letting her know to see if we needed it on hand, I mean who would want to pay and and keep there dog on medication. At that time the vet seem to be offended that she would "never" make a prescription of that sort.so we proceeded with other questions but the vet seemed bother by the previous issue and kept bringing it up. At that point I said "I'm getting frustrated and need to leave soon", at that instant THE VET proceeded to say "that's a REALLY good idea" opened the door, walked out and said "I have a witness"! How is that diffusing the situation? I'm extremely disappointed, North hills has chosen to lie and slander my wife and I by misquoting and changing what actually happened that day. I don't take it lightly to contact the Bureau so I will leave it at there discretion.
