11/22/2017J. J. Agnello Heating& Air Conditioning Inc.1602 Liberty StreetErie, Pennsylvania 16502[redacted]Revdex.com OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA400 Holiday Drive, Suite 200Pittsburgh, PA 15220Dear [redacted]:This is in regards to Case ID# [redacted] and [redacted] purchased a heating...

and air conditioning system in the fall of 2010. We installed the furnace and humidifier on 11/29/2010. It had a one-year labor warranty, 10-year parts warranty and lifetime heat exchange warranty. They called us on 11/7/2017 with a no heat problem on the furnace. They provided diagnostic codes from the furnace, E228; unable to perform successful pressure switch calibration and E276; soft lockout - exceeded maximum number of calibration retries. Our technician arrived at 5:30 pm and troubleshot the furnace. He found the pressure switch would not calibrate because the induce draft blower assembly had malfunctioned. This is a non-stock part is for the service trucks. It was 6:30 pm and he told them he would have to return the following morning when the office is open and he could get the induce draft assembly. He told them the follow up labor to install the assembly would be $65.00. [redacted] exhibited his displeasure. The following morning [redacted] called and complained about paying any additional labor to install the part. After incessantly chastising my service coordinator, she transferred the call to me. I explained in detail how we charge, and what his charges would be. He totally understood what the charges would be, although he did not agree with our policy. He agreed to pay the minimum fee of $65.00. We installed a new OEM induce draft assembly, as we said we would, and [redacted] paid with a check, as they said they would. The total they paid was $164, which consisted of a $99 service call on 11/7/17 and $65 follow up labor on 11/8/17. The $439 induce draft blower assembly was covered under the parts warranty.Stocking space limitations make it not possible or feasible for technicians to stock all parts for ALL furnaces we have installed. In seven years, the [redacted]’s, have never had maintenance performed on their furnace as required by Lennox warranty parameters. This very possibly would have alleviated this situation. I thoroughly and explicitly explained our service pricing before going to the [redacted]’s home. Unfortunately, they do not agree with our policies.Thomas J. A[redacted]Vice-President
