Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:First of all, *** *** did not reply to the matters in my Revdex.com complaint. Instead, she gave a straw-man response*** *** either didn't understand my complaint, was not reading my complaint properly, or deliberately twisted my words around. That is either a matter of competence, communication, or misrepresentationAny of the reasons is cause enough for a refund, which I asked for in my complaint*** *** did not address the refundMy Revdex.com complaint was prompted by the fact that I had contacted *** ***'s office about my vision/prescription problems by phone and by email, repeatedly, multiple times, for over months, and the doctor never returned my calls or emailsEven after I submitted my Revdex.com complaint, *** *** did not contact meAs of the typing of this response, *** *** still hasn't contacted meInstead, she has dropped me as a patientI submitted my Revdex.com complaint because *** *** abandoned me as a patient*** *** didn't contact meInstead, she continued to abandon me and wrote a Revdex.com response which did not address the matters in my Revdex.com complaint. *** *** stated, "*** was asking me to find a prescription for her in some way that didn't include using my examination equipment." Yes, I did ask her that--to use critical-thinking skills-- and she did not do soThat's why I'm asking for a refund*** *** stated, "possibly there are no glasses that would work for her without improving her visual efficiency." Yes there are, and I told her what workedWhat worked was drastically tilting and turning the lensesIf glasses need adjustment on that large of a scale, the Rx is way offTilting the glasses effectively changes the prescriptionIt works, but it doesn't look good because the glasses are not straight. It is not the patient's job to figure out how to write the RxIt is the doctor's job to use critical-thinking skills to write an Rx--see above--"in some way that didn't include using my examination equipment." *** *** didn't do soThat's why I'm asking for a refund*** *** stated if this didn't work, I would need vision therapy to help my system work betterThat's not totally accurateShe told me I needed vision therapy because my eyes had a "teaming problem." It is a medical fact that a doctor cannot diagnose a teaming problem just by looking at a patient*** *** did not do any teaming testsA wrong Rx can cause teaming problems, and the Rx was wrongThat is not a reason for vision therapy; it is a reason to write the correct prescription for glasses. *** *** did not do soThat is why I'm asking for a refundThe Dec exam was not completedDuring my exam, staff notified *** *** that her dad had died. From that point on, *** ***'s attention was on how she was going to fly out to (I believe it was Ohio) to see her familyHer thoughts, understandably so, were with her dad, but my exam suffered as a resultSee below for *** ***'s responses, which are are misrepresentations or flat-out false: 1. *** *** claimed I presented on Dec for a comprehensive eye examNo, I didn'tMedical records show that I already had an annual comprehensive eye exam a few months earlier*** *** didn't ask for the medical recordsI was at *** ***'s office for uncorrected astigmatism and possible prismWhen I called to make the appointment, I asked staff if *** *** treated only vision-therapy patients, or whether she could prescribe for astigmatism or for prism, if prism was neededStaff said that *** *** could prescribe for astigmatism or prism, or bothBut *** *** didn't do soI told *** *** that I hard time getting the right Rx from previous doctors because they all failed to listen to the patientThe other doctors did the exact same tests over and over, when it is a medical fact that those tests aren't always accurate--especially with farsighted or astigmatic patientsIt is a medical fact that the exam room doesn't always reflect real-world conditionsIt can affect vision, functioning, and/or comfort. The eye chart doesn't measure comfort; the eye chart measures clarity, when one eye may prefer a slight blur*** *** insisted on doing the same tests under artificial conditions again and, when the Rx was wrong, she didn't want to listen to the patient then, eitherI told *** *** that I had been dropped as a patient by some other doctors because they didn't want to deal with a tricky case--and I told *** *** from the beginning that my case was going to be trickyI told her I didn't want to be dropped, and then she dropped me anywayIf she didn't want a tricky case, she should not have taken me as a patientContrary to what *** *** believes, *** *** did not refer me to *** *** on Dec What happened between *** *** and me is irrelevantThis Revdex.com complaint is about *** ***, not *** ***However, I would like to take the opportunity to tell *** *** what really happened with *** *** *** attempted to refer me--about years ago--for vision therapy, when *** ***'s exam and records showed that I needed prism, which *** *** failed to prescribe*** *** failed to remake glasses with prism*** *** told me I didn't have a medical condition and attempted to refer me to *** *** for a medical condition*** *** was trying to get rid of me because she didn't want to listen to the patientWhen I tried to explain my vision to *** ***, she bullied me for half an hour in her exam room and then falsified the medical record by failing to document itThe bullying incident was tape-recorded, and *** *** is welcome to listen to it, if she doesn't believe meThen *** *** retaliated and dropped me as a patient after I reported insurance fraudThat incident is documented in emails and letters, and *** *** is welcome to read those, too. I told *** *** that the trial pair, obtained under artificial exam-room conditions, was blurry in the real world*** *** didn't want to hear it and insisted I fill the Rx anyway** *** said she has "no idea" if the glasses were made properly, when it is her job or her optical staff's job to knowEveryone was pointing fingers at each other, putting the patient--me--in the middle of a problem which I am not trained to fix and which they are8. *** *** found "no change" in my Rx because same the inaccurate test done over and over yielded the same inaccurate resultsThat is why I'm asking for a refund
Sincerely,
*** ***

[redacted] presented on December 14, 2015 for a comprehensive eye examination.  [redacted] presented by telling me that she had seen many doctors before me and that they had a hard time getting her a prescription she could see well out of.  She was referred to me by [redacted] as [redacted]...

had remade her glasses numerous times and had told her that she could no longer help her.  She had many other visual complaints.  I worked with integrity and my 32 years of experience to examine her visual system.  She came in for my professional opionion, I gave it to her and then saw her 2 more visits at no charge.  The second visit she returned for a recheck even before she got the glasses to make sure.  We set up a pair of trial glasses for her to wear.  After that she took her prescription to Costco to get the glasses.  I have no idea if they were made properly or with high quality lenses to give her the best visual comfort.  She returned one more time and there was not any change in her prescription.      [redacted] was asking me to find a prescription for her in some way that didn't include using my examination equipment.    I see many infants, young children, and developmentally delayed adults and I successfully prescribe glasses for them in my examination room.     I am sorry she is still struggling with her sight, but I had told her that if this didn't work then she would need vision therapy to help her system work better and that possibly there are no glasses that would work for her without improving her visual efficiency.     I am also sorry that I won't be able to help her any further.  If she needs the name of another doctor please have her call the office.   [redacted], OD, FCOVD [redacted] North Park Vision Center, PC
