North Quabbin Family Physicians PC Reviews (1)

my doctor failed to call me after I tried calling twice and reassured twice but no call from DR. [redacted] 2015. I had major surgery today. I was instructed to call dr. ** @ XXX-XXX-XXXX if I had any concerns or questions pertaining to my surgery. That phone # was not valid. I called the hospital where I had the surgery @ [redacted] I had specific questions about how I should be feeling after my surgery. Instead, I was given the run-around and nobody could help me. I was instructed to call my primary care physician Dr. [redacted] at North Quabbin Family Physicians on [redacted] XXXXX which I did. The receptionist was not only rude, but reassured me that [redacted] would call me back. No time was given. I waited 20 mins then called back. I was again given an attitude by the receptionist and told I would be getting a call from DR. [redacted] I received no phone call 2 hours later and waiting. Furthermore, I was not asked to be recorded. On the phone. I did not give consent to record my phone conversation. This is not only unfair business practice, it's unethical! I feel very disrespected. I'm in serious pain from surgery and need questions answered by my doctor. I NEVER RECIEVED A PHONE CALL BACK from Dr. [redacted]Desired SettlementI don't think I should be billed at all for any services. I don't feel I should pay for a service that does not care about their patients. This is unfair to me As well as unfair business practice. I think North Quabbin Family Physicians should be evaluated based on their lack of performance led by Dr. [redacted] I think Dr. [redacted] should loose his practice as a doctor. He is unethical, unprofessional, and dangerous to the community. I could have a serious problem and can't afford another ER bill. I feel I should be compensated for PAIN AND SUFFERING.Business Response While I cannot discuss specifics due to confidentiality laws, I will attempt clarify the situation in general based on information already provided by the patient. A phone call was received by the on call physician after office hours via our answering service. Our office staff did not answer the phone call and they did not record the phone call. The anwsering service announcement informs the caller that the phone call may be recorded before the operator answers the phone, so the patient was notified of being recorded. The patient called the answering service at [redacted] PM - the on call physician received the message at [redacted] PM and called the patient back. The phone number the on call physician was given and called was "not in service". The on call physician called the answering service and verified that he had an accurate number - the on call physician then informed the service that the patient number was not in service and if the patient called back to get a new call back number. The patient called back at [redacted] PM - the answering service obtained an new phone number and directly patched the patient phone call through to the on call physician at [redacted] PM. During the phone call the patient reported having surgery earlier in the day and was not having relief from the pain medication he was given. The on call physician informed the patient he needed to call the surgeon for his pain complaints as the surgeon would kinow if the level of pain was appropriate based on the procedure performed. The patient reported that he called the surgeon's number but did not leave a message for him. The on call physician requested information from the patient regarding the presctiption medication he was given by the surgeon. Specifically did the medication contain acetaminophen which is important information to have prior to advising the patient regarding other medications to take. The on call physician asked the patient to read the information directly from the prescription bottle. The patient became verbally abusive swearing at the physician and the patient hung up the phone on the physician. The on call physician then called the surgeon and left message for the surgeon regarding the patient phone call and pain. The on call physician called the same phone number the patient was given and followed the directions provided to leave a message for the surgeon. The number the patient was given was a valid number. As the patient admits he was specifically instructed to call the surgeon if he had any concerns or questions. The patient either elected not to leave a message for the surgeon or did not listen to the recerding when he called the number given by the surgeon. He elected to call his primary office to request assistance with pain management and this primary office was not aware of what type of procedure was performed or what types of prescription medications had already been provided by the surgeon. It would have been totally inappropriate to prescribe additional narcotics for this patient as his level of pain should have been discussed with the surgeon who would know if the level of pain the patient was experiencing was to be expected or was a sign of a complication. This patient was only seen by this office once as a new patient. At that visit he was referred to the surgeon for one of his complaints that he presented at the time of that visit. This patient was seen for his first visit and was treated by the surgeon within a 9 day time frame. I am not sure how this gentleman has made a decision that our physician is unethical, unprofessional and dangerous to the commnunity based on one visit with very prompt and appropriate care. If you have any additional questions or concerns please contact the office directly.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I wish not to receive correspondence from North Quabbin Family physicians. Due to my complaint I have filed, They have dropped me from any type of care. This practice exercised by North Quabbin Family physicians is unethical, immoral, unprofessional and childish. Legal action I feel is necessary against this unfair business practice. It is my right to inform the Revdex.com of businesses that prey on people like myself; who are disabled and live on a fixed income. I'm being bullied. furthermore, I'm a veteran and this is ridiculous!
