Complaint[redacted] installed a new hose faucet that is supposed to be freeze proof and in less than a year it busted. He refused to fix or even to meet with me.A new hose faucet was installed by [redacted] on 3/22/13 and he sold me on the more expensive freeze proof faucet. He said I wouldn't have to do anything because the product was designed to keep water from sitting outside the house where it could freeze. About a week ago (3/12/14), I turned on the faucet and water started spraying all over my garage and inside the walls where the faucet is located. I called [redacted] today (3/21/14) and explained the problem and asked if there was a year warranty because I'm still within a year of installation. He said that the product should not have done what it did unless it was used incorrectly. I stated that I only turned it on and off a few times and it worked until recently. I also disconnected the hose before winter as instructed. I told him I believe it should be fixed for free because based on his description of how the product works, it sounds to me like a defective product. He disagreed and said I must have done something wrong. I explained to him that the cheap faucet that he replaced lasted 40 years and never froze or had a problem until last year when it finally leaked. The product that he replaced it with was supposed to be superior and of course it cost a lot more. At the time, I was also upset that he spent 45 minutes at my house yet he charged me for a full hour. He said that's how it works. But at $52 per half hour, that's an awful lot for a plumber (in my opinion). So I paid $193.55 for 45 minutes and a new freeze proof faucet (that costs about $25) that is now broken (in less than a year) and the guy who installed it refuses to fix it for free. So when I spoke with him today he agreed to come to my house to discuss and to examine the problem. I arranged my day so I could meet him, but when I got home I got a text message that said "will be sending you a written response to your complaint" and refuses to answer my call or texts after that. So not only did he tell me that I was wrong, but he stood me up after making plans to discuss a solution and wasted my time.I'm not sure how you stay in business by treating customers like this. He actually told me I was a bad customer for complaining. Don't you think I have the right to complain? The inferior product lasted 40 years and the new expensive one lasted less than a year and then he insults me on top of it!!!!! Desired SettlementI just want the product replaced. Business Response /[redacted]/Business states that consumer became demanding and ugly on the phone. The more he attempted to talk to him, the more agitated he became. After this, business spoke with Revdex.com and then decided it was best not to speak further with customer, but to respond in writing with manufacturers information and allow him to contact the manufacturer.Customer did contact manufacturer who provided a new part for the customer.
