North Shore Auto Sales, Inc. Reviews (1)

North Shore sold myself and my husband a bad vehicle that broke down and had engine issues 20 minutes after purchase. On May 20,2015 myself and my husband purchased a [redacted] from North Shore Auto Sales. After the contract was signed, my husband took the[redacted] to go back to work. Exactly 20 minutes (15 miles) later, the [redacted] stalled and shut off. The engine started to smoke. He called the dealer who had it towed to the lot. His first statement was "I bet its they engine". I immediately told him I no longer wanted the vehicle, because any reasonable person expects their new vehicle to last more then 20 minutes . The contract states that the dealer has the right to void the contract. He refused and proceeded to blame my husband. Frustrated I told him to take it to a mechanic. That was the last I heard from him. I called and emailed several times and heard nothing back from him. I had no idea what was happening with my vehicle. Finally, 3 days later the finance company called and told me the engine had to be repaired and I had to pay for it. I told them to repossess the vehicle, which they did. I still have not heard from the dealer. My mom wrote the check for the down payment which I told her to stop payment on. They then tried to sue her for writing a bad check, which she proves to the magistrate she did not and he ruled in her favor. I find [redacted], the dealer, to be unprofessional and I am positive that he sold us a bad vehicle based on his comments and how quick he was to sell it. I also find it ridiculous that I had to find out what was wrong with MY car from the finance company, and that the dealer refused to return my calls.Desired SettlementI want them to refund the money to the finance company, as my credit was effected by this issue. And I want them to stop all effort of retrieving their down payment from my mother or me. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone:[redacted]Contact Email:[redacted]On May 20, 2015 [redacted] and her [redacted] did purchase a vehicle from us. There was no problem with this vehicle when it left North Shore Auto Sales, Inc. Mr. [redacted] called us to say he had driven 15 miles with the temperature gauge reading hot and the check gauge light. He still continued to drive the vehicle until the engine came to a complete stop at[redacted] They purchased the vehicle AS/IS but in good faith we immediately went and pick up the vehicle. When we learned something was wrong with it We took it straight to our mechanic and had them check it out. Our mechanic told us that the motor had been ran extremely hot and was no good. [redacted] called and left a message (which we have a copy in her file) admitting that it was "their fault that they would have the car fixed at their expense and that they would pay the $2500.00 back to us". Consumer Response The last part it is completely untrue. It was not [redacted] fault. How could he possibly run an enigine so hot in 15 minutes that it blew up?! Something was onviously wrong with the car prior to us buying it. I've contacted several others whom [redacted] has [redacted] over on [redacted] who all say he sold them bad cars also that don't last more then and hour.I want him investigated. More importantly I want him out of my life and my mothers. And since I know he's going to be reading this, stop the lawsuit against her and if you need someone to sue so bad, sue me!Final Business Response As I stated above [redacted] left a message with North Shore Auto Sales Inc stating that it was their fault and they would pay the $2500.00 back to us. I will gladly play that recording anytime. As for the lies and slander that is being done to our business on social medial, ect., because of [redacted] our Attorney is handling that matter.
