Here are the following dates we've contacted North Shore Oil & our messages: 9/11/- Hi BillWe've been waiting for professional replacement of the back brick (we have, just need installed), grate and door gasket for our fireplace for nearly months Frank hasn't responded to our
emails lately We're going to need the fireplace soon.Response on 11/25/- Hate to bother you, but the rep from *** Distributing thinks the serial number is “too simple” and wants to confirm it Is there any way possible that you could take a picture of the serial number plate and email it to me? Thank you, Bill W*** 11/25/- Here it isOne of my original concerns was that this was an early model, and something that has been kicking around for a while The same unit on the website looks considerably different than this unit The directions and everything else is the same - please keep us posted I'll look for the old emails with Frank shortlySent video & asked for a representative to inspect the unit on 12/7/14Asked for a follow up on 12/15/- NSO requested the pictures and video againAsked once again on 12/18/if there had been any progressNSO responded on 12/24/with only having brick and no means of installation.12/26/- We sent the following:I had the chance to look at the FP a little closer today, and it seems like the majority of the rattling is coming off from the lower heat shield and the bottom grill housing looks twisted It's concerning that all these issues keep showing up on a new $5k unit, and more and more I think we somehow received a lemon, or an older model. Here's a list of the issues we still have:1- blower motor 2- doors do not close securely / tightly3- fire brick cracked4- bottom grill / frame is twisted5- improperly installed lower heat shieldAt this point, it would be great to have an actual manufacture representative inspect our FP because we don't want to continue to have issues, and perhaps this is a manufacturing problemPlus, we don't want to have to continually contact you, if this is their problem In actuality, this was suppose to be a simple balanced flue fireplace with a blower, and it's turning into a much bigger headache Please adviseThank you1/4/- Forwarded additional photos & video looking for solutions, NSO sent to *** Distribution.1/13/- Any word from ***? Blower is still incredibly loud and the grate has fallen apart We're dependent on the unit for supplemental heat, and it has been underperforming in relationship to Frank's from Fireside Chatts description2/2/- After being instructed to contact another fireplace company, this was our response to NSO:We've spoken to *** *** Fireplace, and they would charge us a $service fee to replace the brick, fire grate and fix the blower; however, they will not honor warranty because they did not supply and install the unit Who will be responsible for upholding the warranty? In speaking with them, they informed us that the Monarch Majestic BFC is a builders grade unit that isn't designed to supplement heat in a space like ours, and Frank recommended this unit to us We feel mislead because the function and performance of this unit based on purchase price, don't match From here, how do we proceed? Should the manufacture be involved?2/15/- NSO replying only stating they had the brick, and cannot make repairs We responded requesting a better solution to all the issues.Requested for follow up on 2/& 2/with no response.3/3/- NSO requested a ship to address for firebrick & asked that we speak directly to the distributors from that point forward *** (Jeremy) only deals directly with companies in the business of heating.3/27/- NSO stated that the brick would be sent UPS the following week.5/1/- Finally received the brick & it was brokenNo further contact from North Shore Oil or *** DistributionClaiming that we have stopped contacting them; however, we continued to email *** looking for solutions, and have received none.Thank you! ***

Here is some of the information you requested: The original quote in July 2013 was addressed to both us and our builder. The company name is listed as Fireside Chatts, but the address belongs to North Shore Oil Company, Inc. because North Shore bought Fireside. The final invoice received in September 2013 shows that everything is going through North Shore Oil Company, Inc. North Shore is who we paid (we can provide credit card statement ifnecessary). North Shore claims they have nothing to do with the sale of the fireplace, however, they sold us the product and they are who we paid. Therefore, North Shore needs to honor the warranty. Dear Mr. [redacted]:As you are aware, North Shore Oil Company, Inc.,has attempted to assist you in having Monessen honor its warranty on your fireplace. Unfortunately, we have not been able to make any headway in that regard. As Fireside Chatts is no longer in operation and has been dissolved, your recourse is against Monessen. North Shore Oil Company, Inc. is a separate corporate entity which had no involvement with the sale of the unit. Sincerely, Thomas A. S[redacted]enclosure of business response:To Whom It May Concern:Please review the enclosed letter sent to [redacted] on February 18, 2016. North Shore Oil Company, Inc. did not sell Mr. [redacted] this fireplace. We have merely attempted to assist Mr. [redacted] in his recovery efforts. Respectfully,William B.
