North Shore Prosthodontic Associates Reviews (1)

Review: I was taken advantage of and given misleading information in regards to my visit to North Shore. I was told my visit will be free and I will only be in for a "consultation". Furthermore I asle every representative how much this service will cost and everyone failed to answer. Finally as I was leaving they slapped a $150 bill right in front of me and forced me to pay it. I just graduated high school and was taken for granted, what I initially thought was free was $150 that I had saved up to buy a gift for my father, which he did not receive. After several calls to the establishment no one was of help yet very rude. I got no call backs as I was promised. I Contacted the bank which stated the Merchant has to take care of it.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the $150.00 back which was "taken" from me.

Business

Response:

This complaint is a blatant and outrageous lie. NSP has been in business for 25 + years and has provided hi quality concerned care for thousands of patients during that time frame. In addition as a specialty practice we have never given free consultations. Our policy is if you have a consultation and then proceed with the treatment the fee is deducted from the treatment. This patient arrived for an esthetic consult and had approximately a 45min to 1 hour consult w her mom. She was told on the phone and upon arrival of the above policy. She had a very pleasant experience and even spent another half hour after the consult trying to arrange for the treatment, considering different alternatives. She even asked for a student discount which we were happy to give her. She understands English and is fluent in it her mom was not. She actually left the office and said she and her mom would discuss the alternatives and call back. She called again on a subsequent date and asked if we could offer her a bigger discount, we told her we could not. It was only after that that her brother called, saying we took advantage of her, and her mom.

he was antagonistic, rude, obnoxious, tried to bully, and screamed at the staff. He then said if we didn't return the consultation fee he would report us to the Revdex.com. Thus the spawning of this complaint. Our office is never rude to anyone, and this entire event is a fabrication by him. We always have a consultation fee as I previously stated his statement that they were told it was free is again a fabrication by him. The daughter paid the fee and even remained on site to see if we could work out payment options as I said. The mother and daughter could not be more pleasing and we did all we could to help this fine young lady have her treatment. Unfortunately she could bit afford to do so.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am sorry that this had to to come to the attention of the Revdex.com. After several conversations with the front desk the last one ended with a promise on their end that someone would call me back to discuss and hopefully clear the air in regards to the situation. I politely told them that I would report the establishment if they can't resolve my issue. In this case I have no choice but to go this route to get my money back. What I am stating is not a lie, it is truth. As a business I understand that 25+ years is huge, but it is so sad to start losing your customer(s) by making them feel the way I do today. I find it very wrong that when asked about a price I was not told a thing at the establishment. I also find a business that is so grand and has been in place for 25+ years would have more respect and understanding as to the customers problems. Obviously something is wrong if I feel taken advantage of and for me to go this route must mean that something was not portrayed properly by your establishment. I understand fully that the way you refund the $150 is if the consumer takes an $11k operation through you guys. In this situation I was told the consultation would be free and towards the end slapped a $150 bill. I also understand that people make mistakes and maybe they "forgot" to answer my question of, "how much will this cost?" but now its time to take responsibility and get your customer at ease for making them feel like they were taken advantage of. Again all of this added information was told to me after the $150 was paid. This is simply wrong to sugar coat the damages by telling the customer how you DO business, and not shining a light on HOW THE BUSINESS was conducted and agreed on.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We understand the patients disappointment in not being able to afford the extensive cosmetic dental treatment she was requesting. An in dept consultation was performed with great care and professionalism, and the Doctors treatment plan was created and presented to the patient. We offered several payment options and gave great care to offering as many discounts as possible. The patient was fully aware of the fee for the consultation before her scheduled appointment, and at the time of the visit. We wish the patient the best in her future dental care.
