Hello, I did speak and meet (we met at his home on 1/26) with [redacted] regarding a plow hitting his car.   At first report his wife witnessed it but did not say anything or attempt to speak with the driver. He said the driver simply drove off. My concern with this is that if we where in his...

driveway we would be back dragging snow into the street. The street would still need to be plowed so the driver would not be able to leave immediately. They also would have still been onsite with either 1 or 2 streets at a minimum to be plowed. When I met with [redacted] a 2nd witness was brought up who also did not stop the driver, or make any attempts at communication. As far as the damage itself it doesn't add up. He has some minor surface scratches on the top of his bumper. 1st problem is height. Our plow would not be in a position to be up that height, we measured at the time but by memory there is about a 12" difference. 2nd is the amount of damage. Dropping a 950lb steel plow on a plastic bumper would likely cause more damage. 3rd we shovel the concrete pad next two the garage doors to give plows about a 3' buffer, in addition to the 1-2' his car would have been in the garage, my driver would have to be szzxx3-5' off. I found it hard to believe that two grown adults would witness a accident and not attempt to stop the driver or take other immediate action. I also did not see evidence in my opinion of plow damage, and It would have taken 2-3 normal best practices to be broken at the same time to allow for a accident to be caused. With this being the case I told [redacted] he may need to go through his insurance to get it resolved. My team is taught from day one about responsibility and integrity. All accidents are to be reported immediately to me. They know a unreported accident is what will cost them there job, and for something so minor, I do not see them not reporting it to me. All of my drivers have worked for me for a minimum of 3 years, up to 7.  In the past we have taken responsibility for damage that was not proven to be ours. I replaced a window at Stratford that was thought to be broken from a rock/lawn mower and your predecessor told me I should not have and that there was no way we could have been responsible, and I knew who was likely responsible but thought it was not worth the fight. Last year we replaced a garage door (over 10 years old and rusted) at Brittany village after I had a letter from a contractor (all star construction) telling me it was not plow damage, but wind shear. We covered 100% of the cost of a new door without a fight. Chris [redacted] North Star Outdoor Services LLC. ###-###-####
