North State Auto Brokers Reviews (2)

I have purchased 3 vehicles from these guys over the years. I bought my first car from them being very knowledgeable of vehicles. They helped me do my research and I found my perfect car. The next vehicle I bought was my SUV. I returned to them because of the customer service. They were very low pressure and very knowledgeable. Again, best choice I made. My third purchase, my truck. I couldn't be happier. They have taken care of me every time. I have all 3 vehicles I have purchased from them.

Review: My husband and I purchased a vehicle from Northstate on 2/16/16. We traded our truck to me with a mutual agreement that, after the lien was paid by Northstate, we would have $14,000 in cash equity. After exploring our options we decided on a 2003 BMW M3. Since then we've had nothing but trouble with the car, the employees and the agreements in the contract. As of today's date, 6/2/2016, we still have yet to receive a title, registration or license plate. We have made several attempts to inquire about the delay and have been met with nothing but rudeness and incompetence. Their excuse has been that's it's the DMV that is back logged. However I have been in contact with the DMV and they show no record of transfer of title for the VIN # on the 2003 BMW. Finally on 6/1/2016, My husband [redacted] and I decided to go to their facility and have a face to face conversation with them and inquire about the details of when the paperwork was sent for our title and other documents to be changed in our name. At that time we were given a date of 5/17/16, and they had given the DMV our old address even though we had given them our new address twice. The secretary, [redacted] was blatantly rude, and vindictive and the salesman in the office, incompetent. We asked for a bill of sale for our truck trade in, for the 3rd time, and they said that they don't provide that kind of document. We were to refer to the contract, which shows we paid $8,033 in cash for the BMW. This is false since we traded our truck and no cash was involved. Furthermore, the value of the BMW was $14,000 according to [redacted] the salesman, which was the equity in our truck (just so happens), so the amount on the contract was incorrect. When we asked about the difference, the secretary, [redacted] and [redacted] both said it was written that way in order to avoid paying higher taxes. We feel this dealership is fraudulent, dishonest and has the most abhorrent employees. We hope this can be avoided in the future to prevent others from being taken advantage of!Desired Settlement: Ideally we would like to return the 2003 BMW and receive the $14,000 that was mutually agreed was the equity remaining for our trade of the 2011 Toyota Tacoma. Since we have yet to receive any documents, that would be the next step: to receive the title, registration and license plate. That way if they do not agree to refund our $14,000 and take back the BMW, we have the necessary documents to sell the car. Formal apology from the owner [redacted] for his employees behavior and false promises

Response:

The people were extremely happy with us and the transaction when they signed all the legal and binding contracts. It wasn't until DMV delayed their title, which was and is completely out of our control, that they got hostile. We have bent over backwards for them at all points, unfortunately our hands are tied. In addition, we have followed proper protocol at all times. Sincerely, NSAB

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: They have never "bent over backwards for us". In fact it has been very difficult to get a hold of the owner who made the deal and the promises. They never came through with the repairs they promised to resolve, we still don't have documents for the vehicle, and when we call the DMV, we get an entirely different story about our documents. That there is no title transfer on record and that the plates on the BMW were issued in 2009 and should still be on the car. We have been very patient up to the point that the employees got vindictive and rude. They have been frustratingly non communicative and extremely unhelpful in providing us information about the BMW documents, as well as not supplying us with a bill of sale or other proof that we traded in our truck. We have requested proof of the trade in several times and we still have nothing. They said the proof was in the contract. The contract showed false information and prices, which made us question the deal at the time, but they convinced us it was all the information we would need. I expressed my concern about them not following through with helping us if anything went wrong with the vehicle, and the owner shook my hand saying he would take care of us. I was NOT "happy" with sale, but cautious. We also went into their office at the beginning of June to obtain information of when they sent the payments of docs to the DMV and the secretary got hostile with ME. We showed them the contract they gave us, so they could see we had no proof of the trade in and they kept the contract and did not give it back. They said at that time that they do not have "bills of sale", but will come up with something for us, which never happened, to date. We need the contract back, the title, registration, and plates. At this point we want to sell this headache of a vehicle they sold us. And we need those documents to do that. We also want our community to know they are not a reputable dealership.
