I used their website to test my speed and was lucky to get to mpbsWhich is a slower package than what I have been paying for for a lot longer than I filed this claim forAnd the last time I complained they lowered my speed instead of trying to fix the issue I still feel they owe me more than an apology! As I would NOT have bothered to get a service that only had THREE (3) MPBS!! And if that is the case, then they owe me more because I was lied to about speeds before I ever got their internet service (I was just a NSC phone customer for a while before I got internet)Because mpbs isn't fast enough to check your email, much less do anything elseSo they lied about that too They make MILLIONS off of TRUSTING customers like myselfThen to figure out that I have been lied to for MANY YEARS (not just the yrs addressed in this complaint) about their services is very disappointing and they need to be held accountable for their actions!! An apology does NOT get a thief a pat on the back and a case dismissed from a judgeWhy should I have to accept it from a company that I trusted to provide their best service to me, when it is obvious that they did NOT provide ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?! They have done nothing but lie to cover themselves and keep from refunding any money because they dropped the ball and did not pursue all my issues and complaints about poor service, HORRIBLE internet speed and everything buffering all the time!!! Their above statement PROVES that they lied!!! They stated that they had NO RECORD of me complaining....If I didn't complain, then how do they have an email from me complaining about slow speed!!! The wiring was so damaged that Time Warner Cable could not use itTWC originally ran their services through the North State wiring, but had to replace it because it was so damaged it would not workThe picture on my TV, using North State wiring, looked like an abstract painting, blocky, bleeping in and out & freezingSo TWC tested it and replaced it, BECAUSE IT DID NOT WORK! This should PROVE I am due compensation from NorthState for taking advantage of being the ONLY internet I could get in my area until recently and doing NOTHING about my issues.They KNEW I could NOT get internet from anyone elseSo if I wanted internet, I HAD TO USE North State! CRAPPY SERVICE AND ALL!!! I am very thankful that TWC is finally in my area and I no longer have to use NorthStateBut this does NOT change the fact that North State ripped me off for many years, (at least 6-yrs., I was just trying to be fair when I filed this claim for the past years only) because they were the ONLY internet providers in this area of RandlemanNorth State has proved to me that they know NOTHING about being fair, honest, or customer service!

8/16/15 We received a report of slow speeds and dropping connection. The customer wanted to speak to a supervisor and did not want to wait for a call back. Customer hung up while on hold waiting for a supervisor. Customer called back 8/16/15...

and we added to the trouble ticket that the customer informed us of ongoing issues especially when it rains and they wanted their modem replaced. We dispatched a tech on 8/16/15 to replace modem. Modem was replaced and the trouble ticket was closed 8/17/15.

Tech reported customer has power problem with...

AC power being grounded to the telephone equipment.
Customer was to call electrician to fix power problem and call us back once it was repaired so we could fix the internet issue.
8/2/15 customer called and stated an electrician just left his home so we dispatched on 8/3/15
8/3/15 the tech made necessary repairs to get customers internet service up and running.
It was explained to the customer that the AC power was ground to the phone equipment on the outside of the home and North State only operates on DC power.

On 1/2012 internet service was upgraded from 3 Mbps to our 20 Mpbs service at a promotional price of $29.99.
Customer subscribed to [redacted] with [redacted] which provides for speeds up to 20 Mbps.

was $29.95; second year 39.99 and fourth year 49.99. The standard rate for this service is 59.99.
During this 3 year period, the name of the product changed from [redacted] to [redacted] with [redacted] There were no speed changes or services associated with this product name change.

With regards to pricing issues that have been expressed. These are promotional prices for the same product that increased every 12 months over a 3 year period. These promotional rates have been fully disclosed.
With regards to the service issues expressed. We have an email from the customer which acknowledges they tested and were receiving speeds of 16.9 Mbps. This is well within the range of delivering best effort "up to speeds" of 20 Mbps.
