Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:In responding to Northcrest Auto response.I was the lien holder of my son’s vehicle. My wife had called earlier to set up an appointment to discuss the 2012 Ford Fusion, we did not just drop in, the [redacted] knew that we were coming (thus their decision of one person being there). My wife (who is the business person) and I visited with [redacted], showing him the data (pictures of the NON OEM fender as well as the repaired frame) and the email from the dealership sales manager stating the prior damage. We did ask if a resolution could be reached. We did not just go in and demand money. There was a customer that came in several times and each time discussion ceased as to not disrupt their business.  Then vehicle was in excellent condition, it was the repaired frame that dropped the amount of the trade as was relayed by the dealership manager.  Our son along with my wife and I were shown the CarFax when viewing the car. Since it was listed as “AS IS,” we asked what the damages were and were told “scratches” by [redacted].  It is stated that each vehicle is handpicked and inspected before being placed on Northcrest Auto lot on the Northcrest website. The AutoCheck report stated that it was announced at Auto Auction as Unibody damage which led us to believe that the [redacted] knew there was frame damage. Please note that Northcrest Auto has a car lift on their premises to inspect vehicles. It was known the vehicle was in a minor accident but at NO time was prior frame damage revealed to us but scratches. After reviewing the data concerning the Ford Fusion, we did ask for a resolution. [redacted] stated that it was known at the time of purchase that the vehicle had been in an accident which we replied we were told scratches. He also stated that we did not call and offer them the opportunity to buy the car back; however, we told [redacted] that the time of day we were at the dealership Northcrest was closed, the new car rebates were expiring and we had no idea what his response would be. After the fact, [redacted] stated he would have purchased the car. We stated the thing that bothered us the most was the statement on Northcrest website about vehicles being personally inspected and the fact that it was announced at Auto Auction as Unibody damage before Northcrest purchased the vehicle. After further discussion, [redacted] agreed to write a check. [redacted] asked if we would be satisfied and not pursue further to which we answered, yes. We stated since my husband had been the lien holder that lost the money from the vehicle, we said the check should be written to him. [redacted] said it did not matter and since my wife is the business person, he wrote the check to her. The day after, my wife deposited the check, however, upon her return home there was a message from Stacy Kamolis who advised in an angry tone that she had stop payment on the check and stating all the reasons [redacted] had stated the day before. At no time did the message relay upon attorney advice. Stacy ended the conversation that she had called the dealership and that that the dealership was going to make a lot of money off the Fusion and that we needed to call the dealership to get our resolution ($750).I feel that since [redacted] agreed to a resolution of $750 (which is less than what I lost as the lien holder) that it should be honored. He wrote the check and handed it to my wife. I have the returned check from the bank in m y possession. [redacted] was shown all the data, nothing was held back. At no time was it ever disclosed to my son, me or my wife that there had been frame damage before the purchase of the vehicle.
Regards,
[redacted]
