Complaint[redacted] spent approximately 3 hours in our home and pretty much wore us down regarding replacement windows.Said 100% fin. later asked for $1400.Found the company on website, called for an estimate, [redacted] showed up on December 30, 2012 and gave his speech for approximately 3 hours. Although we said we could not afford to pay almost S10,000, (which ended up being $9900) he persisted to talk and talk and would not leave. He said he was the co-owner of the company and we needed to sign the contract before December 31, 2012 to take advantage of a $1400 rebate ( never saw it ). [redacted] wanted to put the windows in immediately at which I questioned him on the weather and said the spring would probably be better, he didn't want to wait and said immediately again & again. Also it came to light he was not a co-owner just a [redacted].Three people came down on a Saturday ( can't recall the actual date, I believe in Feb.) and Started to put a small bathroom window in and we discoved there was no work permit. The window was left half done with broken glass and pieces of the old window on the ground and they left. This went on & on & on at which time I was notified that I would be losing my job in June and also found out I would be owning the IRS $5000 for my 2012 federal taxes. Called [redacted] who said he would be right down to discuss the situation. We told him we would pay for the one window, however our finaces would be changing and we would be able to have the rest of the windows put in. After approximately 2 hours of discussing he said he would try and work something out. Spoke to [redacted] of the company who showed absolutely no concern about our situation and did not give us any options. Also,we never received a payment book. This whole situation has taken a toll on us and we just need some help in getting a resolution. As we look back on the whole ordeal it seems to us that alot of coercion and duress was applied by the [redacted] ( [redacted] and he just wore us down.Desired SettlementWe are unable to make payent and would like to have the 9 windows picked up. Hopefully this company has some type of loss insurance for this unusaual situation.Business' Initial Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]Dear Mr [redacted] The last thing we want are unhappy customers. We are sorry for your financial situation. We are a small business and we also have financial responsibilities. You and your wife called us, you needed windows and you both signed a contract for the windows. [redacted] said he never wore you down. The window have been at your house for months, your wife wanted us to wait until spring so that our men wouldn't track in snow and mud into your house. The windows are custom made for your house and our manufacture does not take back windows and we do not take back the windows either. I'm afraid we are both in a bad situation. We have been trying to work with you. We have offered you company financing with zero interest for the first year. We would like to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Hired firm for roof and siding repair in the fall of 2014. During the last 2 1/2 months water has been coming into our home causing major damage. We hired this firm to repair our roof and siding in the fall of 2014. We paid $3,300 to have the roof re-shingled and siding replaced. over the last 2-3 months we have had significant water damage, over $40,000 to date with more to come. The firm says it was "ice dams", however, this is not the case as we have hired firms to shovel our roof and have any ice removed (over $3,000 for these removals). Currently we are in the process of replacing this roof again as well as the siding. In some areas, the water was actually funneling back into the home. At this point, we now have [redacted] contract, which we will need to assist us in removing our damage. We tried for over 3 months to have this firm reimburse us, however, they kept on stalling us and blaming the weather, builder and or others.Desired SettlementWe are only asking for our $3,300 back from this firm. Although our deductibles and damage (out of pocket costs) will be 10's of thousands of dollars. We have no confidence in this firm, so that is why we hired others to perform this work.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXWe are very sorry that the ice dams have caused damage to your home after our repairs in the fall. This has been the worst winter in the history of Boston. Your home is very new and we were trying to help solve your problem as the builder would not. Due to the complexity of your roof we brought in a ventilation expert from one of our manufacturers. He stated that the ventilation was not adequate and recommended installing an electric power vent. After much back and forth you did not want us to install the vent. We were trying to do what was right for your home and help resolve your problem as there should not be severe issues on a very new home. After you called to notify us of the leaks we met with you to try to resolve the problem and assess a solution to the damage. We called several times to try and resolve this issue. We had set up a time to bring our crew and do a water test and infrared camera scan, but you called back to cancel. As you stated you want to go another way.We apologize for the inconveniences you have been experiencing. Our original contract was for $3,300. You did not want us to install the electric power vent so we did not charge you for that and there was additional material and labor for siding and gutter work that was not a part of the contract bringing the total invoice to $3,200. We will reimburse you for the work completed. We urge you to reconsider the benefits of proper ventilation and insulation as your problems will continue to persist each winter. Once you cash our refund check we both agree that this complaint is resolved.
