homeowner found nothing was cut nor removed. It had simply changed color over the years with exposure to the elements. With his second complaint, I sent my Amish foreman out to take a look to investigate any negligence. The foreman did meet with the homeowner, and satisfied all the homeowners concerns. I thought the matter was settled until I received this complaint. I do take my work very seriously and responded to all of his concerns in a very timely manner. I offered to have the county building inspector come out to take a look at everything to ensure things were done to code, and the homeowner declined my offer. I am not sure what he is saying when he says that the shingles needed tape peeled off of them. We do not purchase shingles that need tape removed. They are ready to install the way they are shipped. As far as the nail holes in the wrong spots, I am not sure what he is referring to. We install over 100 roofs a year and this is the only complaint we have had. I have tried to make things right with the homeowner, and have complied with all of his requests to rectify this situation. Again, if he would like to have the county building inspector take a look at it, I would be more than happy to set that appointment up. I am sure that he would find no negligence on our part. Here is what the contact stated for work to be completed: COMPLETE TEAR OFF OF OLD SHINGLES, INSPECT SHEATHING FOR DAMAGE/DEFECTS, REPLACE AS NEEDED AT A COST OF $20.00 PER SHEET LABOR AND MATERIALS. BUILD A SADDLE AT CHIMNEY TO DIVERT WATER AWAY FROM IT AND COUNTERF LASH CHIMNEY. CLOSE UP ALL BOX VENTS AND INSTALL A VENTED RIDGE, LEAVING THE POWER VENT WHERE IT IS. NEW DRIP ON ALL RAKE EDGES, ICE AND WATER ALONG ALL EAVES AND IN ALL VALLEYS WITH SYNTHETIC FELT EVERYWHERE ELSE. NEW CERTAINTEED LANDMARK SHINGLES OF CUSTOMERS COLOR CHOICE WITH MATCHING CAP AND NEW VENT PIPE BOOTS. TOTAL CLEANUP AROUND PERIMETER OF HOUSE AND HAUL AWAY OF ALL DEBRIS.
I will also attach a copy of the contract.
As you will notice, the contract states that sheathing would be inspected and replaced as needed. I am open to any further investigation of issues, but as far as I know, everything has been addressed to this point. Thank you.
