I was interested in an apt through Northeast Properties. I gave a deposit they gave me the run around and now will not give me the deposit back.On [redacted] I went down with my boyfriend to meet with [redacted] an employee at Northeast Properties to view an apartment. She had told me that the one I was interested in was no longer available but had another one, so me and my boyfriend agreed to view it the following day. She then proceeded to say that we "should" put a deposit down to hold the apartment because they go fast. I gave her a small deposit of $50 dollars. The next we went to meet her and she never showed then called 40 minutes later talking about she was in a meeting and to go back. At that point I was no longer interested the apartment itself was no ideal just from the outside then to have us and my child wait for 40 minutes was very unprofessional. I told her I was not going back and that I wasnt interested in that apartment. The following day I called back and spoke to someone else and proceeded to say that I would like my deposit money back and was no longer interested. The lady gave me the run around and said no one was around and to call back, so I did for two weeks. Then I finally got a hold of someone on Thursday the ** of [redacted] and they said it was mailed the [redacted] and I should have it on Saturday. Well Saturday came and its not there so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave it til Tuesday because of business days. Still nothing, so my boyfriend called and pretty much said please give my girlfriend her deposit they said someone should call by 2 pm or the end of the day. Since they give me the run around all of the time he called back at 3:30 and they proceeded to say theres no manager, so my boyfriend said Im going to contact the Revdex.com and all of a sudden he was available. He lied to m boyfriend and told him it was non refundable but no one told me that and[redacted] clearly told me that I would get the deposit back. After hearing that I called back and spoke to him and he told me I was no longer getting my deposit because my boyfriend called and was rude and he doesnt care if I called the president they ripped up the check they were going to reissue. I am not happy this is not how a "landlord" service treats someone, I would have never given money but I felt pressured. Very unprofessional.Desired SettlementAll I want is my deposit of 50 dollars back.Business Response [redacted] and her boyfriend came to view and apartment that was no longer available. After meeting the leasing agent they stated that they didn't want this apartment to get rented before they had a chance to view it so they voluntarily filled out an application and paid the application fee/deposit hold. The application states in two different sections that the deposit/application fee is not refundable. I have signed applications stating that they are aware of this. Also, the boyfriend called the office numerous times swearing and yelling at the office personnel. The last time he called, the manager told him to stop calling the office and disrespecting the staff.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)That statement is false. We never viewed the apartment because [redacted] was 40 minutes late but insisted we wait, I said no way the apartment was a dump and she also made it CLEAR that the deposit was refundable it was just to hold the apartment because in her words "they go quick". My boyfriend has the conversation recorded on his phone, not once did he yell and he called twice because they were giving me the run around for two and a half weeks. He not once disrespect the staff the only word he used was this is "BS." The company has poor people skills, not only were they rude no one was ever around or even getting a hold of the manager until we said were informing the Revdex.com and he sais " I dont care if you call President Obama your not getting your money". Its a bit ridiculous that all I want is a simple 50$ back and I have to deal with this.Business Response the situation with this client wasThat she was accepted for the apartment as you saw when the application was faxed to you (See PDF). On the last page of that application it states that the deposit that goes towards the first month's rent is"Non-Refundable if you are accepted and fail to move in" which is what happened and while this was being explaind Mr.[redacted] spoke with such volgar language and just didn't want to understand that he did read and signed the stated document. This is what happened with this case Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I've never dealt with such unprofessional people in my entire life. We never even saw the apartment so that makes no sense at all because there employees failed to let us know they were 45 minutes late. [redacted] the employee who gave us the applcation said verbatim "We just need something to put down to hold this apartment they go fast". So we felt obligation to give her money. Also, [redacted] has the conversation recorded and not once said anything besides BS we have it saved. I have talked to many people after this incident even people who used to work for this agency told me that they are a bunch of scam artists and now I see why. They told me for two weeks my check was in the mail then all of a sudden "It's Non-refundable".

Northeast Properties refuses to properly fix repairs that could cause health issues in a timely manner. Im still waiting.Northeast Properties supposedly has an emergency line to call if theres an emergency in your apartment. I tried calling the emergency line several times over the weekend and even left several messages and never heard back from them. I called first thing [redacted] morning telling them of the water damage from my ceiling in my bathroom and kitchen and also that the kitchen sink was throwing up rotten food onto my floor which had such an excessively amount of water that it went into my daughters bedroom, and all this happened while I was away on vacation. I got to come home to my home looking and smelling like a sewer. Luckily my dog was at my sisters house while I was away because otherwise, if he were here and would have licked or eaten any of the stuff coming from the sink I most likely would have came home to a very sick, or possibly even dead dog. I complained about it and every day they say they will send someone and still, no one has come to fix either of the issues.Desired SettlementI want them to offer the services that they tell bribe people with in order to become their tenant. They act like they do an excellent job with fixing repairs that need to be done and that has yet to be the case. If its something stupid like a plug not working they fix it in a couple of days. But when I found out my house wasn't deleaded, after being told it was because I had a 3 year old at the time, it took them months to fix it, and now that I have faulty pipes theyre once again taking forever to fix it.They also choose to use the parking lot on the side of the complex as a dump. They out whatever garbage there just to get it out of there way, and have even left garbage in the road for months at a time.Business Response The first time that [redacted] called the office followed up with her within the 1st hour. We went there within 3 hours of the 1st call. [redacted] personally accessed kitchen sink 2nd floor drain that came undone due to the tenant's placing oversized cleaning products underneath the sink that does not fit. After the problem was accessed, the maintenance technician was immediately called. He showed up 2.5 hours later. [redacted] was not home even though she stated she would be. Since she has a dog the maintenance technician did not enter. We left a message and informed her that we could not enter and that we would go back tomorrow. The next day we showed up and resolved the problem both upstairs and downstairs. [redacted] personally assured her that it was the kitchen sink above hers that was the issue. You can also verify this with the City Inspector [redacted] his number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. She had contacted [redacted] the same time she contacted us. [redacted] called [redacted] at the end of the day and she stated to that we already responded and took care of the problemConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)The time frame listed as far as them calling me within an hour of contacting them was completely false. Also, maintenance has come into my apartment without my being home plenty of times and never once told me that they wouldn't come in because I have a dog. They know I leave my dog in a crate when I'm not at home. It took 2 weeks for the actual problem to be resolved BUT it was eventually resolved. Although I am still waiting for them to repair the kitchen floor which is raised and uneven because of the water damage from the incident. BUT THEY DID fix the issue with the sink (a week and a half after the complaint)
