Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Patrick was unresponsive for many many days at a time.  I've attached transcripts of our text conversations from the start of our interaction to the day I submitted my complaint.  As you will see following the timelines I gave Mr. [redacted] PLENTY of time to resolve the issue AFTER HE HAD BEEN PAID IN FULL.  Hopefully that transcript will refresh his memory.  I merely asked that the job be completed as promised and was told by multiple people who came to assess the finish of Carpet 4 Less work that it was absolutely unacceptable to leave a job in that state and that Carpet 4 Less installers had improperly installed the flooring by NOT cleaning the grout as the laid the tile.  Please see all attachments including invoice for paint repair and tile cleaning.  Please feel free to contact Mr. Caster or Mr. [redacted] for their opinions on the state that the tile was left in.
Regards,[redacted]

Carpet 4 Less regrets that we have been party to any irritation/ aggravation to the [redacted] family or to anyone. I, too am a "Senior Citizen" and I understand what Mr. [redacted] is speaking of. We have never been accused of/ or engaged in  any mistreatment of anyone. 1) We did install carpet...

in Mr. [redacted]'s home. Quite some time later-4-6 weeks I guess, Mr. [redacted] called me about some problems with the installation. i.e. 1-2 misplaced cuts in the carpet and seam come undone (to the best of my recollection). I found this to be very unusual since our installers are master-certified and several have more than 20 years experience and we almost never get any complaints, much less ones of this nature, but I did not argue. We tried to establish a workable date for our installers to correct the situation, but several attempts between Mr. [redacted] & I failed over a period of time. What Mr. [redacted] does NOT mention is that I offered to pay for a local installer to take care of this. The offer is still open...Carpet 4 Less is willing to pay up to $400 for a local installer to fix the problem; that figure is about $200 higher-by my estimation-than the usual cost for such work. After about 3-4 weeks had passed (my guess, I could be off) Mr. [redacted] called to say that a local installer he contacteddidn't want to do the repairs for fear of some sort of liability. I do not know if Mr. [redacted] contacted more than one local installer, but one is all I recall that he mentioned. The offer stands.Carpet 4 Less has become MUCH busier than we were when we first did the [redacted]s' carpet installation, which is why we offered to pay for a [redacted]-area installer to fix the issues. Since the recent floods & rainstorms, our call volume has increased by a factor of another 5x-6x over what it was, which makes the possibility of physically coming back up to [redacted] very remote. We want to do the right thing, therefore. again. we will be glad to pay a local installer to fix things. On top of all that, we have had a series of very serious phone problems, making communications very tentative.I am sorry that Mr. [redacted]'s home is -as he put it-"a mess"-. but no one at my company asked him to move lots of furniture to specific places in the home. So sorry.Bottom, line, we will just pay Mr. [redacted] $400 up front & he can contract with a local installer to fix the problem.Sincerely,Patrick O[redacted]Carpet 4 Less

Mr.[redacted] hired Carpet 4 Less in January, 2017 to install rectangular wood-look porcelain tile in his home, where his Contractor's men had done a less-than'perfect installation prior to our coming on the scene. When we completed the installation, Mr. [redacted] told us that he was happy with the...

installation. Shortly after completion, he told me that the cleanup needed to be done over, which we gladly did. New tile installations frequently require more cleanup post -installation to eliminate haze, grit, etc. left from the initial cleanup. Also he told me that the installers left spots of grout on some places on the lower wall & trim. I went to his homo to look at the extent of the spots, where the cleanup was needed, etc. I met with Mr. [redacted], looked over the situation and almost immediately, I brought back the installer crew wip wipe down th e walls/trim and go over the floor once again. A short time after that, Mr. [redacted] informed me that the additional cleaning did not take care of all the spots on the walls and that he would be moving back into his home that weekend. We asked if it possible to wait, since the weather was rainy/ humid. He said that they were already scheduledso we offered to come in anyway, dodge the movers & get the painting done per his request. I do not recall that he responded, so I did not send a painter. he also mentioned that there were some places on the floor that had thin coatings of grout in some places. On January 25th, I met with [redacted] at his request in his home (he had asked me to come alone; why, I am not certain). together we again inspected the floor and the lower walls,to which I said 1) that I will send our lead painter (26 yrs experience) to paint wherever it was needed AT NO COST TO HIM ([redacted]) and that I would do that as soon as our painter, [redacted] Hensley, as soon as he returned from a trip that he was on out of town. Mr. Hensley will verify this and more. I asked if [redacted] would allow me to consult with various professional flooring people who I knew to find out what they thought was the best cleaning solution and application process to take care of the grout spots that were nearly invisible but nonetheless there. He agreed to that, with no specific deadlines set; both of us wanted to get everything done ASAP--we ere NOT going to charge [redacted] ANYTHING. The whole cleanup process that we ere going to do was NOT going to cost [redacted] anything. I set about calling & consulting with the people that I knew, gathering useful information.AT NO TIME DURING THIS TIME PERIOD DID [redacted] SAY THAT HE WAS PLANNING OTHER ACTION OR THAT IF I DID NOT GET THINGS DONE BY A SPECIFIC DATE, HE WOULD TAKE HIS OWN ACTION AND CHARGE ME FOR IT. WE WERE TOTALLY COMMITTED TO FINDING THE RIGHT SOLUTION, BUT HE APPARENTLY WAS IN A BIGGER HURRY THAN I KNEW.IN FEBRUARY I SPOKE WITH HIM, OFFERRING HIM MONEY TO DO IT USING SOME OTHER COMPANY ONLY TO FIND THAT HE HAD--WITHOUT TELLING ME ANYTHING- THAT HE HAD HAD THE FLOOR WORK DONE AND THE TOUCH-UP PAINTING AND CONSULTED WITH HIS ATTORNEY--AND HE EXPECTED ME TO PAY FOR ALL OF IT. I SEE NO REASON TO PAY HIM THE AMOUNT THAT HE WANTS BECAUSE WITHOUT ANY ADVANCE WARNING, HE TOOK ALL OF THIS ON HIMSELF-PAID OUT A TIDY SUM OUT OF HIS POCKET AND -WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR FORE-KNOWLEDGE EXPECTED MY COMPANY TO PAY FOR IT ALL. WHEN WE WERE READY TO BEGIN TO DO WHAT HE WANTED AT NO COST TO HIM.
