To whom it may concern,This is in reference to complaint # [redacted] of the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) on 3/5/by [redacted] towards Jerry Knapp Enterprises Inc D.B.AMadison Avenue AutoComplaint: Mrs [redacted] claimed that Madison Auto has removed the original shift lever from her vehicle and installed an inferior one that is not made for the vehicle She claims it is a safety issue and that her steering column has been placed out of alignment upon receiving her car after the repair Mrs[redacted] also claimed that we over charged her on her repairs here and that her repairs should have only cost approx: $because most of the parts were suppliedMadison Auto’s background with Mrs[redacted] is as followsMrs[redacted] contracted AAA to have her vehicle towed because her husband had started repairs on the vehicle and could not complete them too him being in the hospitalUpon arrival to the scene our driver told us that the rear tires were removed from the vehicle as well as the rear Brakes were taken apartIt is against AAA policy for a vehicle to be towed as such under contract through themWe did offer to perform a cash service if she would like and we could help her with repairs at our shop Upon receiving the car for the initial brake inspection after my driver put back the car together we noticed several thingsThe rear brake parts that we had received were missing several componentsOne of the rear caliper bolts was missing as well as the hardware for the rear brakes She supplied only the rear pads and rotors which we explained that we could not give her a warranty onShe was understanding of this and told us to go ahead with the repairs There were several other things that needed attention on the vehicle as wellAs is standard we checked out the vehicle for Mrs[redacted] and notified her of some other repairs that were necessary(You can see the complete bill attached and the breakdown of parts and labor) The vehicle has been sitting for a while in her driveway and we recommended that her front brakes be replaced as well as her rear tie rods She was quoted the prices before the service was performed and she agreed to have us do the repairsAfter fixing the brake issues to make the vehicle safe to test drive, upon start up the vehicle began to smoke badlyWe diagnosed the issue as an intake problem and recommended that she replace the upper and lower intake and gasket As is standard in the industry with cooling system issues and vehicles that have been overheated a thermostat and gasket replacement is always suggestedMrs[redacted] came to the shop to see these problems for herselfShe was needed in person and Mrs[redacted] was quoted a price before we started work on the vehicleAfter going over the estimate with her we were given permission to do the work Since Mrs[redacted] is a 1st time customer and AAA member we gave her 10% off her bill as well resulting in a discount of $Upon arrival she was pleased with our work and paid the total after tax of $2157.57.The next month Mrs[redacted] came back into the station rather upset and claimed that we had taken her shifter out of her vehicle and replaced it with an inferior shift leverShe claimed that the original shift lever she had was tan and that it was a limited edition leverShe spoke with Jerry Knapp Jr when she first came inThe second time we spoke with Mrs[redacted] she spoke with the owner Jerry Knapp SrJerry advised her to either bring the vehicle back into us so that he could get the vin and see if there was another shifter available for that vehicle or to take it to a dealer to have it accessedWe contacted the closest GM certified Buick dealer to Mrs[redacted] to have the vehicle looked atThe dealership is Steve Barry Buick located within miles of her houseWe talked to the shop manager Al and he said Mrs[redacted] could bring the vehicle in at her leisure and wouldn’t be charged for the inspection Mrs[redacted] claimed that she wasn’t going to go there and stated that she’d go wherever she wanted, whenever she wanted We recently contacted her to see if she had gotten the vehicle looked at on 3-8-and she has still not had it looked at.Upon further investigation of the matter and being able to have the vehicles VIN number we called the dealership to find out if there is another shifter made for that vehicleFor that year, make, and model there is only one shift lever available for that vehicle In the attached files you can see the part number and specifications from the dealership themselves
