Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: *** *** is making statements in his response. I had present two witness's to the verbal agreement made between *** *** and myself. The agreement was not 1/to hours per camera installation as he indicated in his response. The agreement was as I stated " 1/to hours, hours tops". It was my understanding and the understanding of my two witness's that was for the complete installation. I had updated the software personally for router prior to my departure. When *** *** had completed the installation the software was completely operational so I am not sure why he felt it was necessary to contact the equipment support and make a "appointment the next day for 11AM as he stated. The installation of the equipment was satisfactory and it was operational , however one week later the mobile APP would not work because as I discovered later my ISP is not a static IP Address, but instead was a dynamic IP Address provided through my ISP. The equipment already includes the necessary provisions for connection to the Internet for viewing on a mobile device. So again, this is not a service that *** *** had to install through an update. I did on several occasions attempt to contact *** *** but was unable because as he stated" he had taken his wife to a movie and had turned off his phone". He did finally respond much later that evening and inform me of the "appointment", however there was no discussion of any additional money implied or specifically required because as far as I was concerned he had completed the agreement and the system was operational for at least a short time. The equipment recommended a static IP address to ensure the equipment would continue to be monitored through the APP on a mobile device connected to the internet. As a professional, *** *** should have informed me of the requirement so there would be no interruptions of monitoring via the internet, he failed to mention that and soon afterwards service was interrupted because the dynamic IP Address had changed. It was actually my father who discovered the problem. My father while attempting to restore service inadvertently reset the NVR to its factory installed settings. With no experience, he was able to restore service and did not update any of the factory installed programs which apparently automatically detected the installation of remote cameras etc. It was then that my father discovered that the ISP had provided a dynamic IP Address which would require a change of the IP Address for any mobile devices to view the cameras on the internet. I would not have agreed for any additional increase of any money for the limited scope of the work performed. He was the "professional" and a businessman. It is my opinion that *** *** was attempting to demand more money that what was agreed taking advantage of me as a consumer. It is true that I did send a cashiers check for payment when I was unable to contact *** *** that evening but there never was an agreement to meet Saturday as he also indicated to you in his response. *** *** also attempted to persuade my Commander through a very unprofessional e-mail contact and further attempt to demand satisfaction through involvement with my chain of command

Regarding #***
There were over individual text messages between *** *** and myself, before, during and after the video network installation was completed per *** *** requestThese text messages span from 08/05/to 08/14/providing ample proof that not only *** *** was aware of the action being taken at his request, but also that he approved them
The IP cameras, NVR "Network Video Recorder," and the Asus router all needed a current software update which allowed the proper operational functions of these devices to work together correctly*** *** was informed of this on 08/10/at 4:07pm via text message to which he responded via text "Awesome thank you."
Hardware and Cabling installation of the CAT5E Cabling, IP cameras and NVR "Network Video Recorder" - Date 08/09/Completed
GW Tech Support for the "NVR + IP Cameras" - Agent (ED) T: (626)-350-- Date 08/11/Completed
I emailed *** *** his invoice after the completion of the IP network on Friday 08/12/which he received
The static IP address was explained to him on 08/05/(Friday) during the original verbal agreement before he even had a cable modem installed on site via GCI the ISPThe fact he failed to request it as I explained falls on him as I had nothing to do with that service being implemented at that location
I have been in business for years with no prior complaints or dissatisfied customers, providing service in Alaska
Not only has *** *** misrepresented the facts of our agreement, he has perjured himself, and a follow up email will be sent to his *** *** demanding the rest of the paymentThe full disclosure of the text messages will be sent to him for his own review as well

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I am years old and have just recently purchased real estate property so I am now learning how to manage property and effectively communicate with tenants and other business professionals in the Anchorage community. This experience with *** *** his firm, Northern Security and Surveillance has taught me some valuable lessons. First and foremost, to secure a written estimate that specifies scope of the work to be performed and cost of the projectNext to select a firm that specifies on their website that they are a licensed, bonded, and insured businessThis statement is not mentioned on his website. *** *** as a business owner, should have a contract which states clearly the expectations of each party and not some verbal agreement that can be disputed by either party. I have not "perjured" myself with any statements made concerning this complaint and I have all communications by text messages between us which will prove beyond any doubt that he misrepresented himself as a professional security camera installer. I feel that I have fulfilled my obligation to *** *** as understood in our verbal agreement which had been witnessed by two other individuals. I am attaching for your information a brochure from the website of the distributor that I purchased my equipment from. After your review it will be obvious that the equipment has plug and play smart features which make the system easy to install and operate. It also is equipped with a smartphone viewing setup as you can also verify from the brochureThese features are just a few of the reasons that I dispute the claims of *** ***. I did not dispute the charges he included for materials, although I know they too were exaggerated. The longest length ofCAT5E cable he could have used would have been approximately feet. There are two cameras in the system, the first is approximately feet from the receiver, the second camera is located approximately feet from the receiver. Of the feet of cable used, feet of the cable is not secured and allows for connection to the DVR. This fact clearly illustrates why I disagree with his statement regarding the installation time required for both cameras, this includes the term "estimate" which he used bold type for emphasis during his replyI am also attaching a brochure from the same website that I purchased my equipment from that allows any individual to purchase feet of CAT5E bulk cable for $62.30, now you understand why I stated that the charges for the cable were substantially inflated. Another and probably one of the most important of my complaints that I have against *** *** and his business practices is his attempt to intimidate me through my chain of command after he had sent a very unprofessional e-mail to my commander. Finally, I felt that it was my civic duty to both the military and civilian community of Anchorage, Alaska. I also understand that my complaint can be viewed on your site as public information to warn other consumers about unethical business practices of any person licensed to conduct business in Anchorage. I feel that I have provided a public service to our community and my obligations to society in regards to my complaint have been fulfilled

On 08/05/2016 I received a inbound call from "[redacted]". He owns a apartment complex at [redacted]
I own Northern Security and Surveillance a local video network integration company that designs, sells, and installs video networks. [redacted] choose to I...

guess purchase a video network from [redacted], or some other equipment source via the internet. Call's me up to come over and agrees to have me sell him the needed CAT5E cable, and associated connectors install the system since it was above "His Head".
The verbal agreement was that I told him Iestimatedthat the install of the hardware would be around 1.5 to 2 hours per camera location which there where 2. After all was said, and done the total install of all the "Hardware took 5.5 hours. His father was informed of this that afternoon, and so was "[redacted]"
The discussion between [redacted], and me regarding the (Networking, and Software Updating) was discussed. I clearly asked him if he wanted me to charge him the hourly rate for these services which he didn't decline.

The network video recorder, cameras, and the router which he provided all had to be updated via their manufacturers website "Software Updates" Tech support of course was not timely available via the manufacturers rep's so a appointment had to be scheduled 08/11/2016 at 11AM
After every aspect of the system was completed which even allow's [redacted] to watch the system remotely the total hours charged was only eight hours.
[redacted] of course was not in town while this system install was preformed at his behest. He agreed to meet up on the following Saturday 08/13/2016 to pay his invoice for the video network install etc, and that I would return his "KEY" to the building. Instead he choose not to meet, and informed me he had ran out of time and had mailed the check instead.
The attached letter was received the following week and enclosed. Not even half of the invoice amount was remitted. [redacted] letter is attached below for you're review.
Please confirm you have received this email thanks.
