Northern Virginia Magazine/ Specialicious Reviews (5)

Review: I purchased a voucher for [redacted] Winery through Specialicious. The winery redeemed the voucher for $30 for a Winery Experience For Two on August 9th. The winery claims we went to their business and used the voucher. We did not. We contacted both Specialicious and the winery and let them know we did not visit the winery and use the voucher. I checked my credit card accounts and I never visited the winery nor can the winery provide me or Specialicious with any type of receipt from August 9th. Specialicioius contacted [redacted] Winery and was told we redeemed the voucher. Specialicious then contacted us and essentially said it was our problem. WE WERE NEVER THERE AND THERE IS NO BUSINESS RECEIPT INDICATING WE WERE THERE. We just want a refund of the voucher that we never used and still have printed out at our home.Desired Settlement: Refund of $15 spent on the voucher. We spent $15 for a $30 voucher.

Review: I purchased a $30 voucher to eat a specific restaurant for $15. My husband and I went to the restaurant, ordered $30.41 worth of food, drinks and desert and when we got our check I showed the waitress our voucher. She took it and went to her computer to enter all the information on the voucher. she then came back stating their system stated the voucher had expired or was not valid. The voucher doesn't expire until November 14th, 2014 and I had the receipt showing I paid for it so I know it wasn't invalid. I have contacted the company 3 times via the only means they have which is email and have yet to get a response. Needless to say the food was not good so we won't be going back. I now have a $15 voucher I cannot use and I had to pay $30.41 for my dinner I was expecting to not pay for at all. I want my money for dinner and for the voucher back.Desired Settlement: I want my money paid for the voucher, $15 back and the $30.41 I paid for dinner since I was not expecting to have to pay that and will never return to the restaurant at which it was used.

Review: On May 19th I purchased a voucher for Laser Hair removal at the [redacted] Day Spa & Laser at [redacted], VA but the company wouldn't answer the phone or return any of the messages that I left to make an appointment. I tried calling for two days about 6 times or more each day. I sent Specialicious.com an email (because they don't have a phone number listed on their website. The only way to contact them is by email) on May 21st telling them that I wanted a refund (because they have a 3 day money back guarantee policy) and explained why I wanted my money back. I received an email from [redacted] and here is her email to me:

Ticket #[redacted]: I'm having trouble making an appointment

>

>Hi [redacted],

>Thanks for contacting us! We have received your request and are looking into

>it. Please note that our business hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. To add any

>additional comments to this request, simply reply to this email.

>Thanks for your patience and we hope you have a very Specialicious day!

>Thanks,

>The Specialicious Team

I never got a response from [redacted] or Specialicious.com so on May 27th I sent another email to them. After looking at all the negative comments on Revdex.com.com I am very concerned about this company.

Please help me get my $199.00 back

ThanksDesired Settlement: Refund with interest

Review: I had bought a voucher for restaurant deal and it expired. Speciailicous guaranteed its paid value at least so we went to claim the deal only to find out that the business had gone out of business.

I reported this matter and received reply from Specialicious with ticket #[redacted]; they said "Good morning,

Thank you for your email and we apologize for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, per our Specialicious refund policy, we are not permitted to provide a refund. Please note: "In the event of business closure, refunds will be given in the form of Specialicious credit if the business shuts down before the promotional value expires." Since the business shut down after the promotional value of the voucher expired, you are not entitled to a refund.

We appreciate your understanding. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know!

Thank you,

[redacted]"

Basically denying my refund request. I searched through their website and no where in their website does it say it will not issue refunds if business closes after promotional value has expired.

It only shows the statement on the printed voucher. This voucher is only visible after consumer purchases the deal.Desired Settlement: I would like their refund policy to be spelled out plainly and visible on their website before the purchase and I want refund issued for what I have paid but did not get any goods back.

Review: Specialicious offers a referral fee for sending a link for a product you like. I sent the link to 3 friends all 3 bought 2 of each of the product [redacted]. It states within 72 hours after they purchase I would see my credit $10.00 for each purchase. On march 8 I sent them an email asking where my credit was. I received a computer generated response request # [redacted]. I then tried to call several times no one answers phone and message box is full. Tried emailing 3 more times only to receive a computer generated response. Please help!Desired Settlement: To receive my referral fees.
