I been a customer for 45 year in the last few months a young lady if you can call her a lady has been very rude and not willing to help us she should be struck off

Close Pennington branch
I had a horrible experience at the Pennington branch of Northfield Bank. They would not cash a northfield paycheck because it had cash written on it. All three of the people in that branch acted rude and put out ... and unprofessional. I’ve been going to the branch in Ewing for years cashing my my work check without a problem ...and they were very professional. That was a great branch and it closed down. I’ve decided not to be a Northfield customer based on the Pennington branch .

Northfield Bank is truly sorry for this misunderstanding.  We attempted, on several occasions, to get in touch with our depositors to explain that the account went negative due to a $67 insurance payment debit that hit this account, without sufficient funds.  Unfortunately,...

unbeknownst to us, the depositor's typical social security direct deposit was redirected to the rehab facility, explaining the lack of funds in the account.  There were no fees or charges to this account on the part of Northfield Bank, however due to the negative balance that existed in this account for over 21 days, the account was closed, after several letters were sent attempting to explain the situation.  As of February 5, after speaking with the customer, this account was reopened by the branch and is awaiting direct deposit to begin again.We are, once again, sorry for this misunderstanding and look forward to a long and happy banking relationship.  Sincerely,[redacted]Senior Vice PresidentDirector of Business Development
