Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Regards,
*** ***I am responding to the letter Yes I like the work they did to our back porch That is why I asked them to do my steps and sidewalks They used a jack hammer to tear our steps down so if any of our bricks cracked that could of caused it And for him to say that I had a low amount of money to have it done fixed this is not true He said that I complained alot, untrue They wait till all most winter to do it, then when the one piece had a crack across the top and down the side we wanted it fixed He sends one of his guys out and all he does is tear the slab out and uses the old cement to brace up the newAnd now it looks not like a professional did it I am sure if the shoe was on the other foot they wouldn't like the job Other people who had there sidewalks done by someone else looks alot better than ours

We fulfilled a contract for driveway, sidewalk, and steps for customer on 11/15/13.  I have done work for [redacted] in the past, he always reminds me that he is on limited income, so a lot of work was completed for the contract amount, and a good job done for him!As the pictures dated 11/21/13 show,...

the concrete pour and finish were done nicely.  We also added drainage pipe at both ends of pour, for water drainage.I told [redacted] at this time, we set cut joints to anticipate concrete cracking, but can not guarantee it will crack at joint cuts.  I told him this at that time, because my guess was that a possible crack at PVC pipe route due to limited depth of pipe, and concrete cracking in most cases is duet to movement of ground with seasons.  Most Contractors (all that I know) will not guarantee walks and drives from cracking. The job was completed and paid for in full by the [redacted]'s 12/11/13.  In the summer of 2014, [redacted] called about a chunk of concrete missing from a corner.  He said it was done when they finished in 2013.  My finisher went out to patch and found it to be a fresh chunk out of the corner.  When questioned [redacted] about it looking fresh, [redacted] admitted it was recent. He patched it anyway.  As 2013 picture shows, this happened at a later date. Then later, [redacted] started calling about a crack in walk.  I returned call and told him it was not guaranteed from cracking. He continued calling and sent a letter complaining, so I personally went out in Fall 2014.  I saw a hairline crack in slab.  I told him it was due to movement and was not guaranteed.  He continued complaining and I told him to let it go through he winter and I will etch/grind out crack and apply Sikaflex concrete expansion caulk.  He continued complaining.I again told him to let it go through the winter. I told him if he wants it cut out, that I would do that, but advised him that it will no longer be just (1) cut in walk, it will be (2) cuts (seams), close to each other and the color will not match remaining walk. (told him it will be obvious)In the Spring of 2015, sure enough, he started calling and complaining again.  In June, we cut out the hairline crack (same status as year before) I reminded him, it is exactly what I told him it would be if we replaced it.So now, he changed complaint to tripping hazard.  I stopped again to see tripping hazard, I believe it was August.  He came out and started about color difference, cut joints and tripping hazard.  I then told him it was not a tripping hazard, a 1/4" at the corner end of walk is not a tripping hazard.  I then knew there was no satisfying him and got in my truck and left.Back to contract, if you look at porch, the block and pad was deteriorated and missing.  I supplied block, etched out area and laid block to void space (at no extra charge for [redacted]), before building steps and installing railing.I went over and beyond for [redacted], replaced hairline crack, which was not guaranteed, because of his insistence.  He states his insurance agent wanted walk replaced because of tripping hazard (before job).He can have his agent call me if he deems the new pour a hazard that needs repaired/replaced.Thank you,Donald BurnsPresident, Northgate Contractors, Inc.
