Northlake Premier Elevator & Lift Company Reviews (3)

Northlake Premier Elevator and Lift Company installed and completed the unit for Mr [redacted] on March 19, The proposal for work on the unit is a three year warranty on all parts and five year warranty on the drive The complaint alleges that the stairlift only worked for eighteen months and then Mr [redacted] contacted someone and they referred him to a company in Lafayette I can only imagine he contacted TK Access prior to their shut down and they advised him to contact the Lafayette Company, as they were a distributor too However, as the complaint reflects, we were alerted about the problem in December This is the first complaint we had on the unit We were not originally contacted by Mr***, as we would not have referred him to another company I can only imagine that Mr [redacted] contacted the manufacturer, TK Access, and they referred him to a closer dealer since the warranty is from the manufacturer However, TK Access has been shut down for three years and the factory is also closed It has been very difficult on the distributors for any TK Access products due to the closing of the factory Since then, there are other companies that are starting to manufacture the parts Furthermore, we have ceased all stairlift installations due to the closing of TK Access We are more than willing to go to the [redacted] residence and service the unit However, the warranty was a three year warranty on parts only, not labor As the complaint reflects, the first contact from Mr***'s daughter was December of 2013, which was nine months after the three year warranty on parts expired and TK Access is no longer in business We can order the necessary parts from a different manufacturer but Mr [redacted] will have to pay parts, labor and travel

However, as the complaint reflects, we were alerted about the problem in December 2013.  This is the first complaint we had on the unit.  We were not originally contacted by Mr. [redacted], as we would not have referred him to another company.

I can only imagine that Mr. [redacted] contacted the manufacturer, TK Access, and they referred him to a closer dealer since the warranty is from the manufacturer.  However, TK Access has been shut down for three years and the factory is also closed.  It has been very difficult on the distributors for any TK Access products due to the closing of the factory.

Since then, there are other companies that are starting to manufacture the parts.  Furthermore, we have ceased all stairlift installations due to the closing of TK Access.

We are more than willing to go to the [redacted] residence and service the unit.  However, the warranty was a three year warranty on parts only, not labor.  As the complaint reflects, the first contact from Mr. [redacted]'s daughter was December of 2013, which was nine months after the three year warranty on parts expired and TK Access is no longer in business.

We can order the necessary parts from a different manufacturer but Mr. [redacted] will have to pay parts, labor and travel.

Review: Northlake Premiere Elevator and Lift COMPANY, sold my 87 year old parents a stair lift for their home at [redacted] in Baton Rouge, LA. for $4,150.00 on 3/19/2010. The stair lift worked for approximately 18 months. My father had contacted [redacted] many times to get him to fix the stair lift since it stopped working. The company sent someone out from Lafayette, LA and that service man duped my father for $600,00. Because of his age, he doesn't remember the name of that company. Contacting Mr. [redacted] he stated to my father, myself and an attorney, that he was ordering a part for the chair battery but has never followed up with service/parts/contract. We have left many messages on his phone (12/23/2013, 3/24/2014, 3/25/2014, 5/5/20144/03/2014, 6/9/2014) and many times not recorded before we began recording times called for legal purposes. On 3/25/2014 (5:04pm), Mr. [redacted] stated to the attorney that he would come to Baton Rouge in 2 weeks, calling her with the exact date. Today, Mr. [redacted] refuses to answer any of our calls. The stair lift, as stated on the business proposal ha a 3 year warranty on parts and a 5 year warranty on drive. I have the invoice for payment and a cashier's check form the bank.Since my mother has passed, my father need the stair lift for safety to live independently.PLEASE HELP.Desired Settlement: Since Mr. [redacted] says that he is out of the stair lift business, he is only dealing with elevators. Since he acknowledged the proposal and received the $4,150.00, he can come and take the lift stairs down and return the money. I would hate that Mr. [redacted] would be liable if my father falls down the stairs due to his unprofessional duties to repair/replace/refund the money for the stain lift. Please note days are estimated at this time due to my father age and not recorded previously.
