Ms*** was a tenant of Northland PropertiesShe moved from the townhouse on June 30, Our move out requirements are to contact our resident manager for a walk through and also to provide proof of payment of the final water billMs*** sent via fax a copy of her final water bill, when we called to confirm payment we were informed that it was still unpaidWe contacted Ms*** and explained to her that the invoice must be stamped paid or provide a confirmation number for phone paymentsThis took approximately two weeks for Ms*** to pay the water billShe actually brought the paperwork to our office, without an appointment, and demanded her security deposit I explained that I needed to confirm payment and that I did not have anyone in the office authorized to sign a check
The following Monday (August 11th)I cofirmed payment and sent out the security deposit Ms***'s boyfriend called and said that she did not receive the checkI confirmed the mailing address with him, apparently she provide the wrong house numberWe waited another week for the check to be returned in the mailThe check was never returned, therefore, I placed a stop payment and reissued the check with the correct address
Ms*** was not treated inappropriatelyShe had a hard time understanding the process that we go throughEvery time she called and when she showed up at the office she was always hysterical
We have been in business in *** for over years and we have always used the same process for security deposit reimbursementsThis is the first situation we ever have had with a tenant

Review: Hello, my name is [redacted] and I would like to file a complaint against Northland Properties in Pittsburgh. I moved out of my rental unit on June 30TH, 2014. The address of the unit was [redacted], PA [redacted] As of today the security deposit in the amount of $545.00 has yet to be refunded to me. I understand that I made an error paying off my final bill with the [redacted] Area Authority when I mailed it before talking to them first. After finding out that I made an error I called the authority and received a paid receipt from them.On August 6th I drove to the Northland Property Offices that are located off McKnight Road and dropped off my paid receipt that I received from the [redacted] Area Authority. I was hoping to receive my security deposit at that time since I satisfied all the requirements to receive it. Thats when the problems started. [redacted], the person I spoke with that day stated that she could not give me the check since there was no one in the office to sign it, and no one would be in until August 11th. This is understandable since it was possible that the person signing the checks was on vacation. I waited about 10 days, then I called the office to see if the check was mailed. I spoke to [redacted] again and she was very rude. She said it was mailed on August 11th. As of today, I have not received my check. I have tried calling the office numerous times using my cell phone however no one will answer. I used my office phone and spoke to [redacted] and she hung up on me. I called again and no one answered. When I used a friends phone to call she would answer but once she knew it was me she would hang up. This is not a professional way to deal with your customers and not a good customer service. I rented from Northland Properties for 3 years and never missed a payment; being treated like this is wrong. I am hoping that [redacted] actions do not project on the overall core values of this company.I would appreciate it if a supervisor or management would remedy my situation and send me my security deposit in the amount of $545.00 as soon as possible.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate it if a supervisor or management would remedy my situation and send me my security deposit in the amount of $545.00 as soon as possible.
