Dealership misdiagnosed an issue with a faulty water pump which led to the motor seizing during their test drive. I should not have to pay repairs. In July of this year my wife was driving our 2010 Volkswagen GTI home from work. Within 10 km from home the car started overheating - the warning light came on. We let the car cool down then drove the car to the dealership for repair. The next day they diagnosed the issue as being two faulty heat sensors. We agreed for them to repair the sensors. The next day we heard that the sensor replacement didn't fix the problem and that further investigation was required to get to the source of the problem. The next I heard from them the motor was blown due to the water pump chain breaking and pieces of chain grinding into the motor. I worked with the dealership to see if VW Canada could cover the costs as warrantee (the car was 12,000km out of warrantee). Eventually the western Canadian VW representative agreed to pay for half the engine
Very disappointedI made sure to verify everything via phoneNo damage to the vehicle, interior or exteriorThen the car smelled like a smoking booth and it had body damage on the door part with creases/etc that can't be repaired easilyNot the biggest problemHowever, when pointing that out, and that we had explicitly asked about any damage, Trevor, the fantastic and arrogant sales manager came outFor him, an oversight of their staff or any misrepresentation is just regular businessThe fact that a customer had to put in time (money) did not faze him at allAnd he did not like a complainerDemure you have to be with TrevorIt's his lot after allGo there at your own risk

My VW Tiguan had the engine light come on Dec I was speaking to a friend who has the same vehicle and she told me she received a warranty extension letter about the same problemShe had taken her vehicle in after receiving the letter and the work had been performed free of charge to prevent the problem from occurringI called Northland VW to see about getting this service for my vehicle and I was told it was applicable but that it had expired for my vehicle in October They gave me a customer service number to call to see if they would extend the warranty because I was within the required mileageThe person I called refused to honor the warranty and could not tell my why I was never notified of the problemShe checked her records and all my information was correct in their systemShe said she has no idea who sends out these l
