I am rejecting this response because: Simply taking the word of your employees over the word of your customer/tenant is ridiculousI have no reason to lie about what I came home to find, and this has happened two times nowI will be contacting the Columbus Police department and taking this further, as what has happened has been a blatant violation of what you have the rights to doMy personal property is off limits to all Northsteppe staffI am beside myself that this is how this matter is being chosen to be handledRather than admitting fault and at the VERY LEAST issuing an apology, you have chosen to put the blame entirely on your customer and refuse to acknowledge that there was even an issue at allWhat an utterly disgusting way to run a business

Dear Revdex.com, The consumer’s description of the issue is exaggerated and deviates from the reality of the issueRegardless of our views on the issue, our company was in the midst of making a good faith effort to resolve this issue with an amount that exceeded the desired settlement that the consumer is requesting even though we did not feel obligated toHowever the consumer does not seem to be out for a reasonable solution. She is making her efforts to degrade our image and we will not reward that activity. Prior to us receiving notification of this complaint we had sent an unsigned settlement agreement to the tenant that we planned to enter into however, due to the unreasonable actions of the tenant, we have since decided to shut our efforts downThank you, NorthSteppe Realty, Inc

Attached to this response is the tenants leaseThere are Tenants on this lease jointly responsible The tenants have been communicating separately with the landlord The correspondence with Ms*** is attachedThe Tenant did not fill out a move in damage sheet and turn it in to the
Landlord within days of taking possession of the apartment as the lease states the Tenant is required to do Regardless, we have still given the tenant credits in good faith to resolve the situation as shown in the correspondence attached As for the issue of the Tenants dresser that was allegedly damaged, per the lease , the Landlord is not responsible for any of the Tenants personal belonging for any reason The Tenant is required to have renters insurance for their personal belongings that may be damaged, lost or stolen
Thank you,

Our lease explicitly says that we pay a total of $per month for electricity which would thus include cost for running the air conditioner that has been out of commission for the past month and a halfTherefore, the electricity bill is significantly less than what it would be if we had the air running the entire time If NorthSteppe claims the portable air conditioner is equivalent to our original air conditioner, then we should get these portable units in each of our bedrooms as we under circumstances we would have air conditioning in those rooms as well as the living room The portable air conditioner does not provide relief in any other room besides the room in which it is installed

Revdex.com,The tenant is correct that the chiller has been brokenThe tenant has been given a temporary source of air conditioning that does pull from the single metered electric that is billed to the landlordNo compensation is due to the tenant The HVAC company has been engaged to repair the issue
and it will be corrected in due time.thank you!NorthSteppe Realty

The consumers allegations are regarding showings We give prior days notice for showings per the lease lease agreement Our leasing agents that have shown the property explained that both times they have shown the property the dog was not in the cage and laying on the bed
and didn't move from the bed through the duration of the showing We have no reason to disrupt the tenants belongings and refute any allegations of doing so

To whom it may concern,Please cancel complaint #***, immediately, as NorthSteppe Realty has submitted an acceptable settlement to me Terms of the settlement include that settlement details will be confidential and are contingent on the Revdex.com complaint being cancelled and not transmitted
via “…in writing, by telephone, or electronically, whether by mail, e-mail, internet, “blog,” social media forum, or other electronic means,…”Please contact me if any further details are needed or if my request cannot be completed.Kind Regards,

It is unfortunate that the tenant is not satisfied with our response, however we are still maintaining there has been no breech of the lease agreement We do advertise the property to have Air Conditioning as the building is on a central chiller that provides air conditioningThe tenant has been provided with a temporary alternative form air conditioning until the matter is resolvedThe tenant has not been ignoredWe have responded when we have updates on the situation The lease agreement explicitly outlines that no reimbursement is due to the tenant for utility usage Our office still maintains that the tenant is not going through the proper channels to request a courtesy credit from managementWe are hoping to remedy the chiller situation as soon as possible.NorthSteppe Realty, Inc

The tenant has contacted the city about their issue and the city has deemed no violations The unit was not advertised with A/C because the chiller unit was not meeting expectationsHowever, the chiller is still producing cool air We have provided a portable cooling unit to cool the
apartmentThe tenants pays a flat fee for the utilities on top of the base rent that lease lease agreement states does not get refundedRegardless, the extra cooling unit we have provided also uses additional electric energy that wee pay for

Revdex.com,We understand the tenants frustration with regards to the issue in their apartmentSince we have heard of the issue , we have engaged a reputable exterminator to do a multipart treatment to take care of the situation The exterminator has been given no limitations by our company to do
what is needed to resolve this issueWe are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to the tenant however on the last visit to our office , the tenants name calling , swearing and unproductive office disruption was not appreciated by our companyNobody from our company was in the tenants face, raised their voice or treated the tenant poorlyWe simply rejected the tenants accusations that we "have done nothing" , "we don't care about the situation", "we are dumb", and many more The accusations are certainly and we will prove that by continuing to engage our exterminator to take care of the situation NorthSteppe Realty Inc

Mr. [redacted] did submit a dispute through our system and did attach a cleaning receipt. When looking at our pictures taken at the time of move out of the ceiling fan and blinds, it is difficult to make an argument that there was a deep clean done on the apartment. Also, the pictures do indicate the painting/wall damage was in excess to ordinary wear and tear considering paint stains on the hardwood floors and the excess to which the walls were marked up.  However, shown in the attachment, in an act of good faith , our move out team has offered to give a credit back to Mr [redacted] of $200 for the painting. I am offering up the same courtesy on behalf of our company.  I will send the pictures taken at move out in multiple E-mails, due to file size.
Thank you,

I've attached a copy of our lease.  I have also attached the link to their website which clearly states under the 'Amenities' section that air conditioning is included.

I am attaching my response to the Northsteppe Realty Company and their automated response indicating that it will take up to four weeks to hear back from them.  Until I hear back, I would like to have my complaint stay open.  At that point, I can either accept or reject their response.  Is that possible?
Message sent to Northsteppe with attachment (see below) on 11/5/2014
I am disputing the charges for cleaning Kitchen Floor ($20), Carpets and Hardwood Floors ($70) and Painting 2 walls/rooms ($400).  I am attaching a receipt from [redacted]’s Maid & Laundry Services for their Deep Cleaning service performed on 7/14/2014 and photos of the apartment showing the clean appearance of the floors and walls in all rooms of the apartment.  [redacted] lived in the apartment for three years. Repainting is considered normal wear and tear and should be performed by the owner when an apartment is vacated.  Given that no wall repairs were required, the painting and hardwood cleaning is not appropriate.   Given the age of the linoleum in the kitchen, it was impossible to make it look like new.  We paid to thave the place cleaned and it was.
Automated Response received from Northsteppe on 11/5/2014:
Thank you for utilizing our Rapid Response Move-out Form.  This email
reflects that our office has received your questions or comments and it will
be forwarded to the appropriate department for review.
Because we receive many requests to questions concerning our tenants'
move-out charges, we will not be able to respond immediately.  Typically, it
takes up to 4 weeks to respond to your questions.
In that time frame, we will examine your discrepancy, look at the pictures
from your move-out, review video of your move-out, and discuss the conditions
of the apartment with our maintenance contractors, and inspectors.  We
will take that
information and compare it to the move-in check list that you were required
to fill out when you moved into the unit, at the beginning of your tenancy.
Once we have researched all of the information, we will then determine if an
adjustment will need to be made to your deposit return.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to resolving your issue.
Thank you!

Revdex.com,The exterminator was out to this unit yesterday to treat and our maintenance contractors have spent numerous hours in the house the past few days performing preventative work on the property.  The is obviously a discrepancy between the tenant and us on how the communication and responsiveness has gone, however we maintain the position that any pest or maintenance issue going on in our properties is a major concern to us.  We are making our best efforts to resolve this situation and will continue to by hiring qualified professionals to perform the work required.  Thank you,NorthSteppe Realty, Inc.

This company is completely falsifying this entire situation. When going in to the office, I and my roommates kindly went in the enquire about the situation. However, yes, our tones were heightened when we were two weeks in the house and the pest company only came once out of the three times North Steppe told us they would come. There are roaches in our fridges and pantries and it is way past the point of a simple extermination which we have told them. I personally went in to the office to kindly try to clear things up, however, after walking in and telling the front desk worker my concerns and issues, the manager, Mike, interrupted me from across the room and got rude and spoke with a disrespectful tone. One can understand our frustration when we speak to the Ehrlich pest company and they share with us that North Steppe said our roach problem was minor. It has almost been three weeks now and our problem as gotten nothing but worse. This is 100% unacceptable and unprofessional. The claims being made by this company is very un-true and disappointing that they cannot account for their own mistakes and actions.

Good Morning,

While looking back at the consumers file, I did not see that the consumer filled out a "move out dispute."  The instructions are given on all of our closing statements delivered to the tenants. If the consumer would kindly email [email protected], with the exact...

charges they are disputing, and also attach any evidence (pictures, move in damage sheet, professional cleaning invoices, etc.) , we will gladly look into any errors that we may have made on the move out.  The person that handled the move out will also go look back at our evidence to ensure the move out was handled properly.

Thank you!
