Dooms day ahead
Northview company is going to merge or sell to Kingsett, which is good, at least Kingsett will Manage in proper way. Please swipe out all the old staff, all these old staffs are not irresponsible and have no knowledge have no tendency to get knowledge. Do drastic organization development, bring qualified staffs, specially in Yellowknife. Yellowknife is the house to indigenous people, we want respect to our people and community, value for the money that we pay. Earning money is hard but staff we do not give respect to client shall not remain new management.

Poor Management
I am not sure what types of staff are hired in this company. Either the company is not providing enough facility or the top management is not handling them properly. Customer service is zero, knowledge about property is zero, client are not treated as client but as slave, if they are providing the apartment free. In hot market this is ok but in competitive market, I will not stay in Northview Reit apartment, right away I will leave and find another one. Nobody should buy the share of this company because the future of this company is bad and dooms day ahead. When the federal government puts caps on student admission, caps on LMIA and work permits, less people will visit to Yellowknife. Right now people are here either by getting government job or many people are Toronto are here to get PR, Works are here under LMIA for PR. Once those caps are effective only people who gets government job will come, apartment will be easily available, when people have option to chose from definitely choose from other company than this Northview REIT.

Absent management, poor maintenance upkeep, never on top of things

They tried to rent a apt to me full of mold, mildew, and the apt was filthy this is after I paid deposit, rent, signed lease it was horrific! ! I have picturesI was supposed to move in Tuesday the property manager has not been there for days the maintenance man called me this am for me to come get my money back especially since I spoke of a bldg inspectorNow would u be upset? My movers were put on hold and I had the electricity cut on already! I wouldn't recommend this property to my worst enemy

The management is inadequate and poorly ran, with manager often absent. The property manager will state when asked about condition of property, "owners will not allow for proper upkeep and repairs". Maintenance is inadequate, and will rig figures, and cabinetry, and states owners will not fund repairs that are needed. When maintenance is needed can take up to 3 months or longer to have repairs done. The playground is poorly constructed with wood severely cracking and splintering, unsafe for all children. The pool is often filthy and out dated, and overrun with older teens, most that are do not live in the community, cussing, drinking and causing unsafe atmosphere for everyone. but allowed by property manager. Drugs are are being used and sold throughout the community. The grounds are littered with trash, cigarette butts, and animal waste. The outside guttering is failing with leaks and clogging. The buildings are run down, shutters are missing in some windows or broken with only half present. The entrance doors are falling apart and will not shut properly. The entrance flooring in all buildings is torn with construction underneath exposed and apears unsafe. The hallway carpets are dirty and stained and littered with cigarette butts,cigarette burns,and trash, and building are only cleaned once every 3 or 4 months. The windows are unsafe, if you touch to clean, the panes will detach or fall out. Air comes in around the windows, and leaks with rain. Mold is present in the walls and under tile and carpeting. The air returns are clogged with years of dust buildup from lack of proper filters. The floors in apartments are carpeted but the floor underneath or failing in areas with loose boards which causes loud squeaking sounds in apartments underneath. Complaints are never handled in a timely manner, on several occasions they are never addressed. This property is overrun with lack of care and concern.

My wife and I moved into Northview Apts 8 years ago. I have read the review written on 12/21/2013. Everything he or she has written is true. We have asked for 8 years to have the windows replaced and the reply we get is ( thats on my wish list). In the winter we have to dress in layers to stay warm, cold air pours through the windows, costing us more money to heat our apt (we pay for the lights). The furnaces are the original to the building and have never been mantained since we have been here. The ducts are full of dust and God knows what else, which is ruining all of our electronic equipment and expensive decorations ( 600.00 head dress is one of the items). Since my wife and I are now disabled we can not afford to move. We live from payday to payday. During the last big rain our apt. got flooded, the carpet people came and sucked up the water in the carpets, right after they left I noticed that there was more water pouring in from under the baseboards. Told the manager about this, she said she would take care of it. Still has not been taken care of yet and it has been 2 years. Foundation is still leaking. Every time the weather calls for heavy rain we are in fear that we are going to be walking in water again for days. We at Northview are wondering what the owners are doing with all the extra money they are getting from the pet deposit and extra rent we have to pay for our pets each and every month ( 25.00 per month plus a 250.00 deposit) Seems like they could use that money for improvements on their property. Also drugs are being bought and sold in the community.
