Complaint: *** I am rejecting this response because:Ted said he would send a check for wire only. The cost for replacement wire was $16.99, a fraction of the total cost to repair damage he caused. This is not an acceptable resolution. Yes, Ted can purchase a lot of wire for $370.66, the total cost of repairs, but he is missing the point that I was unable to do the repairs myself and had to hire someone to do it for me and that the wire was broken in so many places, I had to purchase expensive joiner pieces to reconnect it back together.Chris O***, the owner of the NW Brush Busters, called me the day after I submitted this complaint Chris sincerely apologized for Ted's actions, notified me that Ted performed this work without his knowledge, that he had not been informed by Ted of my concerns with the work done, and that this was not how they do business He was extremely apologetic and informed me that he is in the process of trying to buy Ted out Chris verbally agreed to pay restitution to me and send me a check for the damage, which I have not yet received (as of 3/8/17) There are many inaccuracies in Ted's statement. I distinctly remember the time of Ted's arrival as 1:pm, because I had been waiting for him to arrive since am, the time he said he would be there. I had just picked up the phone to call him to ask him not to come that day because it was getting too late and he would not be able to complete four hours of work by the time it got dark, as we had agreed on the phone that he would do four hours for $ Yes, he did work until dark, which was about pm that day, one of the shortest days of the year So after walking the property and then unloading his equipment, he didn't actually start work until about pm and finished about pm, which is only two hours of work, half of what he said he would doI am shocked at his statement that he believes he performed $2,work in two hours. The total cost to make repairs for the damage he did has no correlation to the cost of the work he performed whatsoever, and yes, the cost of the repairs ($370.66) is almost as much as what I paid him ($500). If I had included T-posts and T-posts caps in the cost of supplies, the cost would have approached $500, but I had those items on hand already which is why I did not include them in the total. Yes, I agree with Ted that the field was overgrown, that's why I called NW Brush Busters in the first place after all, but it was not years of growth as he is stating I have lived on the property for years and have had the field mowed several times previously Perhaps he was confused as apparently he does not listen or take direction well At no time did I tell him I was on a fixed income, and frankly I find that insulting; he made that assumption when I told him I did not want more than $work completed because it was all that I could afford at the time.My property is fenced on three sides by New Zealand fencing, made out of five strands of wire, which cost $3,to install. The fence is not electric. When walking the property, I told Ted on several occasions to stay away from the fence line, because I did not want the fence damaged as I have horses and did not want them getting out. He made an offhand comment that he could pop those wires without a problem, like it was no big deal to him if he did. I am aware that a portion of the fence was overgrown with brush and you couldn’t see the wire in several places, which is why I was manually cutting blackberries off of the fence while he was working and why I asked him to stay away from the fence line in the first place. The excuse that he didn’t know the fence was there just doesn’t hold water, especially the part where he said he didn’t even know that he did damage it, which is an outright lie.I did tell him about a harrow implement that had been overgrown with blackberries, which he proceeded to drag into the gigantic burn pile he had created, even though I had asked for it to be picked up and moved where it could be taken away I also told him about a lawn mower that was also in the bushes and where it was located, which he also unbelievably dragged into the burn pile His statement extremely over exaggerates the remaining items he did find, as well as the amount and quality of work he performed. Perhaps Ted can purchase wire cheaply and install it himself However, I could not repair the extensive damage he did to my fencing by myself as it was too big a job I had to hire someone familiar with New Zealand fencing to fix it. This is why I called *** *** from *** *** *** to help me, as it was through *** that I had purchased the fencing. The most expensive item in the total to fix the fence is for the labor ($260.00), as well as for the joiner connector pieces to put the wire back together ($79.96) Because the wire was broken in so many places, it needed a lot of joiner connectors. On January 23, 2017, I sent Ted and Chris an email with receipts for the supplies and labor to repair the fence Ted called and left a message for me that he would mail a check to me. I have this message saved on my cell phone. On January 30, 2017, I called Ted to follow up, asked if I could meet him to pick up the check as I hadn’t received it yet, and he informed me that he had been busy and that “it’s not about the money” but that he hadn’t mailed the check yet.On February 3, 2017, I sent an email to Ted requesting payment by February 6. In my email, I let him know that I would have to seek compensation for damages through the small claims court if I did not receive repayment. These are the actions of someone standing up for their rights; I do not consider my actions to be unkind in any way. I just want to be reimbursed for the cost of the repairs, as having to come up with these additional funds has caused a financial hardship for me.For the record, I encourage you to investigate me further as to if I have made claims like this against “many others,” as Ted said in his statement. You will find that I have never taken this kind of action against anyone else, as I have never received such poor customer service and disrespect from anyone I have ever done business with in my entire life I find it revealing that Ted has chosen to make personal attacks against my character as a response to my request for reimbursement.I have not contacted Ted directly again because although I trusted his word that he would follow through on repayment for the damages, he showed his true colors when the time came to pay up, and he would not pay, and instead sent emails to me which I found to be purposefully intimidating, over exaggerated and inaccurate. A business person with integrity would not feel such a need to degrade a client and defend themselves but would stand up and do the right thing. I do not wish to have any further direct contact with him ever again. The cost in lost business as a result of bad online reviews will far outweigh the cost of reimbursing me I remind Ted that the best business practice is “the customer is always right.”I would not be requesting a refund for services provided through the Revdex.com if reimbursement for damages had been made as requested. Sincerely, *** ***

Upon arrival at this customers property, at 1:pm I walked the property with her, the property was seriously over grown, I explained that it would take much more work than the $minimum that our company requires to begin work, she seemed to be a nice person as she said she was on a fixed
income, and absolutely could not afford and more than that at this time, so we both agreed I would do as much as I could for her with the time allottedBefore commencement I ask her, to her knowledge if there were any items present, that should it hit them with my specialized mowing equipment, would damage it, such as piles of rocks, metal objects, etcShe pointed out an old implement in the black berries, and said that should be allSo I began the work, the property had been left maintained for over twenty years, according to her admission, but I said I would do the best job I could within the time allottedAs I began the work, I discovered massive piles of metal junk, csr parts, old riding lawn mowers, wood debris, stone piles, wire fencing, etcI tried to be as careful as could be done, given the amount of hidden junk, as is humanely possible, but inevitable I was running some stuff hidden in the foot high black berries, and downed trees, and just giant grass Now some of this is to be expected, in our profession, long story short, I worked until dark, and tried to do the best by her that I could given the circumstancesAfter throwing three blades on my machine, and digging out wire, in which she assisted me, so that I could continue, we called it quitsShe said that in the process I hit her electric fence, I apologised and said I would be happy to replace the cost of any wire that was damagedThen she sends me an emIl for $as I remember, I chuckled to myself, I could purchased enough wire to completely do her property e times with that kind of money, she the informed me that it was a special wire imported from Australia What she has forgot to mention in her complaint, is the fact you could not see the property, let alone a wire fence hidden under all the over growth, be it American or Australian, I explained that I had done about two thousand dollars work for her in the time allotedShe seemed to be very greatful, paid me by check, I loaded my battered equipment and leftThe next day I had to replace the blades on my equiment, which should I had taken to the dealer, would have cpst me over $dollars to replace, then I get another demanding phone call from her requesting the money for her fence, I said I sould send her a check for the wire, and that I had been to busy to do it, so she begins threatening me with a small claims suitNow I explained that she was nearly requesting as much money for the wire, that I charged her for the entire job, I said I would pay for the wire and not her labor to replace it, as my generous altitude was beginning to evaporate, which was estimated to be around $110, then she threated me again with a law suit, so in response to her verbal abuse, which was entirely unnecessary, I said that I would see her in courtHavent heard a word until nowI am still willing to pay her for her loss of wire, although she by far recieved more value from my efforts than I charged her forBy her actions, she causes most of her own grief, if she would have treated me with kindness, as she did before I did all of the work, she would find me far more agreeableIf we sere to investigate further, she most probably has done this to many others as well.
