Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because I do not believe that I was ever provided with the attached document that outlines the terms of the day money back guarantee When I signed up I was verbally informed that if I did not want to continue I could cancel at anytime during the daysI signed a waiver form but do not recall signing anything else It was not explained to me that I would need to attend a specific number of classes in a row in order to cancel After I broke my toe, I called and spoke with Daniel (who was the person who signed me up and explained things to me) to tell him I would be missing classes for a period of time as a result When I lost my job, I spoke with Jeff one time and during that I attempted to end my membership and asked for the money back guarantee that I was told about when I signed up During that conversation I felt that he was very rude and unwilling to end my membership He did offer to put my membership on hold for one month but I explained I wanted to cancel my membership He said that was not possible and the conversation ended I later called back and spoke with Daniel as he was the person who signed me up and verbally explained the day money back guarantee Daniel responded that he did not know what was going on and that he was going to talk with Jeff to figure out what was going on I never received a call back and attempted to call multiple times after that and never got a response until I filed this claim At this point I attended one class and have paid a total of $($enrollment fee, $first month and $for a second month that just got charged several days ago) I do not believe that paying an additional $and $cancelation fee is fair given the fact that I have not utilized the gym or any instructions from them I am able to return the shirt (never worn) and the wraps and boxing gloves as well Due to the treatment that I have received during this experience, I do not want to be part of the gym as I do not feel that I could receive instruction from them and simply want to leave the gym I would ask for another resolution to this issue If they are unwilling to refund the enrollment fee than I would ask that I be refunded the most recent monthly payment ($174) and all future ones be stopped I have already been charged a significant amount of money for something I have not used at all Sincerely, [redacted]

They were given very clear explanation of hoe the program works and that the days free came with the purchase of a membership They were given a written contract explaining all of the details of the agreement and were told verbally in detail how everything works We were up front and honest about all terms of the agreement

Again we have been very clear about what you need to do to cancelWho did you supposedly talk to that said you could cancel over the phone with out a written notice? I am extremely clear with all of the employees here that written notices are needed to cancel an agreement so things like this do not happenAlso refer to you agreement that states you need a written notice to cancel.
As for the maybe 20-negative reviews on line our business has served over people sense I would say those are stellar ratingsYes maybe one out of every people who come in complain about there service but almost every time it is from people who try to back out of what they agreed to
You spent enough time here to know we treat everyone awesome and are 100% up front with every one about everythingLook at it how you choose YOU know what I am saying is true.
Good luck to you

We were very clear about the terms of the contract both verbally and in the written agreement
We also went out of our way to put his account on hold when he told us he was going through financial difficultiesWe are very flexible and try to help our members any way we canIt would be
nice to here a thank you instead of a complaintEven though most of the time when someone tries to hold a membership this early in their term it is because they are trying to back out of what they agreed toMost membership related businesses will not pause your account and still let you train on them to help you get back on your feet
In no way was anyone here misleading the terms are very clearWe have been in business for over years and served over members having over 99.5% of them happy customersThis would not be the case if we were trying to "scam" people.
Thank you

Just send us over a copy of your email cancellation and we will credit your account with that date of receiving your day notice to cancelIt states very clearly on your contract that you need to put in writing a day notice to end the agreementIf you did this we will happily refund your
duesIf you did not do this when it clearly states that in your agreement that you signed that you would, do you think that by your mistake contacting the Revdex.com is the best way to deal with this? When I make a mistake I deal with the best I can and move on not try to put a negative light on someone who had nothing to do with it.
If you were to contact anyone at the academy and request to cancel they will tell you to send it over in writing that is the only way we do it for both of our protectionIf you did this just send it over to me and I will take care of it

We have been in business since and this is the first time ever that anyone has ever said we are a male dominated environmentOur most common compliment is how great our community is hereMost of our members look at NWFA as a second familyIf there is another problem I am happy to talk with
you about it to see if we can work it out. We are nothing but supportive and will bend over backwards to make our members successful. As far as your agreement you committed to a month membershipAs with any other agreement you enter in to it is expected that you you hold up to what you said you would doWe do not offer refunds especially when there has been no error what so ever on our part. Our Youth Power Instructors are supportive and go above and beyond to help there studentsIf you guys need extra help just ask

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:I’m glad to hear that you have had success with yourbusiness however that does not change the way I feelI was pressured andtricked into a contract On top of thatI feel extremely uncomfortable being thereAs a young woman I feel strange beingthereAs I said it is a male dominated establishment and I feel extremely uncomfortablecoming there anymorePlease do not discredit how I am feeling and say “If Ihave another problem that you would be happy to talk to me” I want the issue athand to be discussed and not to be brushed under the rug as you are clearlytrying to doI am very disappointed that you will not refund me for the monthsthat you can see I was not clearly thereHowever I’m sure that you can understandthat being uncomfortable is not what you want your customers to feel and unfortunately that is what your business did to meIfyou truly cared about taking care of your customers you will make the remainingmonths of my pressured contract null and voidWhy would you ever want to forcesomeone to come somewhere where they don’t feel safe and comfortable? Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. While I still disagree that the resolution is appropriate given the fact that I was only able to attend one class and paid over $648, I do not want to continue to drag this out and would just like to be done dealing with this issue.  So thank you to the business for cancelling my contract. Sincerely, [redacted]

Attached is the terms of our 60 day money back guarantee. None of the stipulations were that are listed were met.
When I chatted on the phone with Mr. [redacted] I told him that we would credit him time and that we would work with him because he lost his job.  By putting a pause on his...

membership dues and let him train for free while he is getting a new job squared away. Now he is complaining about how we are treating him? We could not be more flexible. He said himself that he enjoyed the training we are giving him the ability to keep up the training and working around his situation.
Also this is the first time I have heard anything about a broken toe if he was out for a few weeks because of an injury we will also credit him the time he was away so he is not paying for classes when he could not attend.
If he does not want to take advantage of our generosity he can cancel his agreement. We will accept this as his 30 day notice. Meaning He will have one more payment of $174 and a $50 dollar cancelation fee. When we receive this we will write off the remainder of the contract that he agreed to.

On August 9, 2015 I called NWFA to cancel my membership. The NWFA representative told me that my membership was cancelled, and that my verbal notice would suffice. I kept notes from this call, and wrote, "No further action required. Account cancelled."

On September 20, 2015 I wrote to NWFA by email: "I canceled my Northwest fighting membership more than a month ago and I'm still receiving a bill. Consider this a formal cancellation of my accounts. I'm also requesting all payments made after September 15 to be backdated and paid to my account. Please let me know in writing what your system is for this. Again I verbally called and got confirmation that my account was canceled in September."

Please confirm through this channel that account is cancelled and all payments are resolved.

Also, you write, "When I make a mistake I deal with the best I can and move on not try to put a negative light on someone who had nothing to do with it." I would like to point out that this is a systematic issue within your organization. For evidence, look no further than the Yelp reviews. (NWFA averages 2 stars out of 10):

Again, please let me know if this matter is resolved with no further costs to me. Please send confirmation that I owe nothing further than what I have already paid.

Everyone who enrolls at the academy has the choice of which program they go in to. If they enrolled their daughter in the leadership program that is a two year program. Not only were they told how the program works they were given a written copy of their agreement to take home with them for later...

review.
I am not sure where the $400 per month number came from the youth leadership program is $209 per month.
We fully work with people if they move out of the area (over 25 miles away) we will cancel the agreement (which is stated in the contract they signed). If someone only moves a few miles away we will not cancel the membership.
As far as them being told there daughter will be a black belt in two years this is not correct again. there has never been a student that received a youth black belt from us in less than 4 years. I believe they may be mistaking there two year leadership agreement with thinking that they will have completed the program at the end of two years which is not the case. They were never lead to believe this in any way either.
We do offer weekend youth classes if week days are hard to attend.
We are 100% up front with everything we do. The facts are that they agreed to being involved with this membership and are trying to back out. We are holding up to our word as to what we will provide and continue to offer the best service to all of our members. We appreciate when our customers will honor their word as well.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because I do not believe that I was ever provided with the attached document that outlines the terms of the 60 day money back guarantee.  When I signed up I was verbally informed that if I did not want to continue I could cancel at anytime during the 60 days. I signed a waiver form but do not recall signing anything else.  It was not explained to me that I would need to attend a specific number of classes in a row in order to cancel.  After I broke my toe, I called and spoke with Daniel (who was the person who signed me up and explained things to me) to tell him I would be missing classes for a period of time as a result.  When I lost my job,  I spoke with Jeff one time and during that  I attempted to end my membership and asked for the money back guarantee that I was told about when I signed up.  During that conversation I felt that he was very rude and unwilling to end my membership.  He did offer to put my membership on hold for one month but I explained I wanted to cancel my membership.  He said that was not possible and the conversation ended.  I later called back and spoke with Daniel as he was the person who signed me up and verbally explained the 60 day money back guarantee.  Daniel responded that he did not know what was going on and that he was going to talk with Jeff to figure out what was going on.  I never received a call back and attempted to call multiple times after that and never got a response until I filed this claim.

At this point I attended one class and have paid a total of $648 ($300 enrollment fee, $174 first month and $174 for a second month that just got charged several days ago).  I do not believe that paying an additional $174 and $50 cancelation fee is fair given the fact that I have not utilized the gym or any instructions from them.  I am able to return the shirt (never worn) and the wraps and boxing gloves as well.  Due to the treatment that I have received during this experience, I do not want to be part of the gym as I do not feel that I could receive instruction from them and simply want to leave the gym.

I would ask for another resolution to this issue.  If they are unwilling to refund the enrollment fee than I would ask that I be refunded the most recent monthly payment ($174) and all future ones be stopped.  I have already been charged a significant amount of money for something I have not used at all.

Sincerely,
