Northwest Fitness Reviews (%countItem)

I was seeking a personal trainer for strength and fitness goals. I found Kevin P in an office space in Sequim wa. I went online and filled out his questionnaire. He returned my inquiry quickly, in a day or so. He told me he could get me all the results I was seeking. He told me it was $2500 for 90 days of his services. He said all up front. He told me to put my check through the mail slot of his massage business door. For the next 2 1/2 months we were in contact approximately 10 hrs of his and my time. I kept requesting “the plan or his contract “ he would tell me I just needed to trust him and not to worry about time. He told me in beginning not to go work out and just work on my nutrition. He sent me a copy of a Dr. eating plan. Leave out dairy sugar carbs. Eat 5 small meals and drink water daily. Then he had me join a Facebook group and participate in a group therapy zoom call for 1 1/2 hrs online. He cancelled doing this after 2 fridays. He cancelled meeting me due to his daughters birthday. He wanted me to post my struggles on his Facebook group page. All he ever said to me over and over was “How would that make you feel? Or What would being thin feel like?” When I would ask over and over what exactly is this plan for me to get stronger he would said you just need to trust me. I kept complaining each week about how much money this cost and that I thought it was for personal training. He met with me once at his massage therapy office and I did weights with a dumbbell for 40 min. I am asking him for help and he has ever even given me his plan or a contract until I asked for my money back. He then messaged me his contract. I never received this. I was never given a three day right to rescind.. I was never given a HIPAA contract. I was never told that this was therapy. I don’t believe that he is a licensed therapist. I feel this is a scam. He has his mother and his sister online in the group therapy session. Also the 4-5 others were elderly. I am worried that he is taking advantage.

To whom it may concern,

There are many statements in this complaint that are an attempt to defame my character, misrepresent my business and characterize me as a scam artist. I have never represented myself as a therapist, nor have I said I offer therapy. I do offer personal training and instruction, along with coaching, nutrition and accountability in our group training program. Representing that I am taking advantage of other members is a blatant, bold and false statement. Each and every one of the clients in my group would attest to the results they have gotten from being in this program and how it has changed their lives. I maintain a close relationship with my clients. To use a public platform to try and manipulate and spread false information is very unfortunate.

This client reached out to me about needing help with her weight loss struggles. She had mentioned trying different fitness gyms in our local community without results and many other attempted programs. I have a very detailed intake process that is required before I accept new clients. During this initial intake, I have potential clients fill out an application stating their goals. Currently I am only working with between 8-10 clients per month. During this process, we spoke on the phone for well over 1 hour detailing her requests for wanting overall better health, better commitment, more strength, follow through and that she was tired of not being able to accomplish her goals.

In addition to talking about her goals, we spoke about the details of the program. We spoke about how I delivered the program and what she could expect from working with me. She made the commitment based on this conversation. We began right away because she was very excited and ready to make a big change.

Throughout the process I set appointments, supplied resources and many recommendations for how to achieve the goals she was interested in pursuing. She mentioned from the beginning she was coachable and ready to do what it took to accomplish her goal. I found out early, like is the case with many people in starting a program, that she became very nervous about the commitment. This is also why I reminded her about the community of others to help support her, hold her accountable and for us to stay in contact during the journey. One of the biggest things I've found in working in the Health and Fitness field is that more than just the information, people need accountability.

She was very excited about the Live Conference Zoom meetings and expressed a great deal of interest and enthusiasm during the calls and her gratitude for the support in our Facebook group. She connected with others in our group and was thrilled to have the support from other members. She expressed many times that she was eager to continue working the steps of the program.

One of the things that happened from the beginning was that she would schedule an appointment and cancel last minute. When she did arrive for appointments she was rushed and in the case of the appointment which lasted only 40 minutes, it was because she had to leave for another meeting. When we did meet to discuss the strength training portion of the program, it was meant for her to practice at home and at the YMCA. She was given video and written instruction on how to practice. She discontinued after a short period. She was given an in depth nutrition program that she later said was not a fit for her. She had the opportunity for nutritional and herbal supplementation, which she also showed no interest. The goal of our meetings was to teach her what she needed to do and that she would practice.

The entire program was built to offer the tools, resources and accountability to reach her goals. I am confident in my program and have had a very high success rate with people who have struggled most of their life with nutrition, fitness and wellness. The idea is that I provide this so that people can know what to do without having to rely on professional guidance on a consistent and on-going basis. The program she started was called the Foundations of Health and Wellness.

It is quite normal when making life changes to struggle with staying committed to the process. This is why I offer my program to a small group of people. I want to be available to hold them accountable and provide daily support. This support is offered in email, text and by phone. In addition to this personalized support, I offer a weekly meeting, 1 group meeting and the support in the private Facebook group. I also have a strength class, which I invited this client to attend. The cost of the program is a reflection of time I invest with each of the members. I am available Monday-Friday and many times have extended this to evenings and weekends. For me, the work I do in my community is more than trying to make a living. I deeply care about the people I work with and want to see them succeed. I have built a strong reputation with clients, Drs. and many local professionals who I have had the pleasure of working with over the last 8 years.

This is the first complaint of its kind. I have been accommodating, open and ready to continue supporting her along in her journey. I have known all along that she was struggling at staying committed. I offered many times that I would help her through the process until she got the results she wanted. I have said this in the many communications with her. I am surprised, even after communicating with her that I would support her until she reached her goal, that she believes that I am taking advantage of her. Yes, she did make a commitment like the others in my program. Yes, she is struggling more than others. I have offered in written, video and verbally that I would help her.

I am willing to go above and beyond for the people I work with. I cannot make anyone do the work if they are not willing to follow the guidelines. Throughout the process she has struggled following the plan. She has refused to do the work I have given her. I know based on our many communications and my professional experience, my guidance was to help her with her overall well-being and goals. I have worked with thousands of people and I am confident in the work I do.

The fact that she has threatened me with using the Revdex.com, is nothing less than an attempt to try and get a refund after using the services she committed to. I am ready to help her through this struggle and to continue supporting her to achieve her goals. I have offered setting an appointment by phone or in person to discuss this matter, but she has instead chosen to use this platform to try and manipulate the situation and facts.

In closing, I am confident that I act, have acted and will continue to hold myself accountable for being professional, honest and dependable in my community. I have no interest in scamming, stealing or taking advantage of people. The fact that this client is unwilling to commit to the process and use this platform to try and hurt my business is not what the Revdex.com is intended for. I am more than willing to provide the service above and beyond like I have stated many times previously.
