I had not known of the businesses response but just read itPart of it is not factually true, as part of their inspection they determined that there had been no settling because the top was still level and that the location of the crack made it obvious that a heavy object could not have been the causeWe remain extremely dissatisfied with the product because the crack will continue to travel from the back to the front and their idea of a repair would not have prevented this occurrenceAs far as purchasing another slab they did not offer that to meIf my only cost was just the rock and not the fabrication or installation I may have considered that but they did not offer that option.Thank you [redacted] Sent from my iPad

Based on the inspection report and photos, NW Granite came to the conclusion that the crack was not caused by improper installationCustomer agreed with thatThe job was ordered on February 19th and was installed on March 31st NW Granite inspects every piece during fabrication and
installation processThe crach was not visible or not there at all, at that time, months agoThe customer approved the job and the productUnfortunately, granite is a natural stone, and does have spots and areas that are weaker the othersThere are also many other reasons why granite can crack:
House SettlingImpact from a heavy object
We have no way of knowing what has transpired in months time with this install, because we have no way of monitoring what happened from the install to the time in which the complaint was made
NW Granite warranties its labor/workmanship for years, not just 2, because we stand behind our workCustomer satisfaction is our #prioritySince the stone is natural product we do not warranty the material, because we don't produce it
After the inspection was made, and even though it is not a problem of installation, NW Granite offered at NO COST to the customer, to fix the crack.
How are cracks fixed:Cracks in granite are repaired first by filing with an acrylic or using a color-matched epoxy to glue the pieces back togetherThe choice here depends on the nature and severity of the crackThen the surface is re-polished to remove the edges of the crack and blend the crack it self with surrounding surface shine
However, the customer informed us that they would like a new pieceTo keep our customer satisfied we offered to install and fabricate a new piece at no cost if only customer would pay for a new slabAdditionally, NW Granite has made several attempts with a supplier, to provide a new piece, which took a few days to get an answer onBoth, the customer and the supplier rejected all of those solutionThe customer wants to get the slab replaced for freeThe supplier will not provide a slab for free, because the job was installed over a year ago and granite is natural stone, therefore they do not warranty the material.
In fact supplier informed us that no quarry that cuts stone out of the mountain would warranty it against cracks after it has being properly installedAnd no supplier that sells to fabricators, would warranty the stone against cracks after it has being properly installed.
Here is a link to our warranty from our web site:https://www.nwgraniteandmore.com/Warranty.html
In Conclusion, because customer satisfaction is our #priorityWe are willing to repair the crack at NO COST the the customer

What is the price of the slab?
