I am responding to the desired settlement as posted by Mr. [redacted].Mr. [redacted],1. We will pay for the cost of a replacement sink $372.00.2. The fee that Mr. [redacted] listed $550.00 for the installation of a sink installed twice or $275.00 for each occurrence would also include the cutting and polishing of...

the sink opening. We will pay $275.00 due to the fact that the sink opening was cut and polished and has not been an issue.3. We apologize for the inconvenience and additional work you have been caused as the result of this incident.  4. The only company that was contacted by our company was Slabworks of Montana as Mr. [redacted] stated. [redacted] contacted [redacted] because they worked together in the past. There was no malice by Ms. [redacted], she only inquired about Mr. [redacted] to [redacted] to inquire if she has ever had a similar experience. The call was NOT an investigation of Mr. [redacted].5. No other companies have been contacted regarding Mr. [redacted].6. If this settlement is acceptable to Mr. [redacted] we will make arrangements for payment of $647.00Sincerely,[redacted] and [redacted] - Distinctive Countertops and Cabinetry

Review: While presenting themselves as representatives of Distinctive Countertops & Cabinetry, the installers mounted a granite composite kitchen sink contrary to the mounting hardware manufacturer's requirements, resulting in irreparable damage to the sink and necessitating its complete removal and replacement. When informed of the damage, company representatives claimed to have photos, taken without our knowledge or permission, which proved that the sink was not damaged post installation. Such photos did not exist. The company refused to investigate the damage and demanded additional payment to replace the sink. We elected to replace the sink ourselves.

While replacing the sink, we discovered the incorrectly installed mounting clips, and had to remove & replace the sink an additional time in order to mount the sink correctly.

Despite our having sent photos that proved the defective installation, the company refused to acknowledge their error or offer any kind of remuneration, nor did they offer to investigate the complaint without being paid their standard rate. The owner of the business did not contact us or get involved until we posted negative reviews on social media, and then only after having her representative contact companies in our home town at random, seeking personal information about us without our knowledge or permission.

We tried one last time to negotiate a settlement for the cost of the sink alone, but the owner countered with a demand that we take down our negative reviews, to which we did not agree.Desired Settlement: 1. Compensation for the cost of a replacement sink, $372.00.

2. Compensation for labor to reinstalling the sink twice, $550 (based on estimates from three local installers).

3. Acknowledgement that Northwest Installers and/or Distinctive Countertops was solely responsible for damaging our sink.

4. An apology for having caused us many hours of unnecessary additional work and frustration to uncover and fix the incorrect installation.

5. A list of all companies in our home town contacted by Distinctive Countertops in their baseless search for personal information about us.

6. Evidence that the owner of Distinctive Countertops has personally contacted each of the companies to apologize for having solicited personal information without our knowledge or consent, and that we did nothing to deserve being secretly investigated.
