This has been a year in the making. Last October I fell from a ladder breaking both heels. Transported to NWTH via ambulance. ER treatment consisted of x-rays and splint. Referred to Ortho surgeon for surgical repair of heel x 2. Doctor waited a full month to schedule procedure, wanted his money and hospital’s money up front. Both fees paid with credit card and here we go, not so fast. Day of surgery, Dr takes x-rays and to his astonishment both heels where healing and did not want to perform surgery. I have a bachelors degree in nursing and clearly left heel was not healing right and would not heal correctly without surgery. I am not going to demand the doctor to perform a surgery if he does not want to, come out missing a limb. Went to get refund and no can do. NWTH states they are going to hold my payment and make sure the ER gets paid. OK refund my money and I will pay the ER. They where not having any of that. You are a hospital, not my financial advisor, they have names for them, they are called accountants. So now for the past 11 months, I have been paying on this very high interest credit card while NWTH, does not even pay the ER, just hold’s my money. There is a word for that as well, it is called extortion. I never read in the hospital’s pamphlet NWTH offer the service of extortion. We are expecting to get a refund ASAP!
