Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: When I went up there the guy told me he did not test drive my carI still smell gas and the gas is still flowing out the carI told him to tell them to come look in my car, and they refused to come out and look at my carI wanted to show them my engine light was still on in my carMy car has never been the same since they looked at the carI am going to take my car to another mechanic to get written proof Sincerely, [redacted]

Response to complaint # *** submitted 1/20/by *** *** *** came to our West Florissant location on 8/4/needing a safety and emissions inspection, at that time she also stated that the check engine light was on.We pulled codes and found that it had codes for a evaporate
leakWe ran tests and found that the fuel pump fitting was broken at the top of the gas tankIt is part of the pump housing and it would have to be replaced in order to fix itMs*** authorized the repairsWe removed the tank and replaced the right-hand side fuel pumpWe cleared the codes and test drove the vehicle to get the monitors ready and the vehicle past emissions testOn 9/6/Ms*** came to our location again for another repair, but never mentioned any problems with the vehicle relating to the prior repair done.Then on 10/10/Ms*** came to our shop stating that the fuel gauge reads full for only a short period of time and then goes to empty after a few daysWe checked the problem and replaced the left-side fuel pump this timeWe found no problem with the right-side fuel pump we had replaced beforeWe did not charge Ms*** for the left-side fuel pumpThe only charge she had was for replacing a broken fog light bulb. On 12/22/Ms*** came back again to our store and stated that she still had the same problem in that the fuel gauge will go to empty after a few days and that now she smells gas inside the vehicle and that she had a hard time filling up the fuel tankShe also stated that the check engine light was onWe pulled the vehicle into the shop and the check engine light was not on, and we did not smell any gas odor inside the vehicleWe checked for codes and found a history code for the transmission and that was allWe removed the fuel tank and replaced BOTH of the fuel pumps and the vent crossover tube between themAll parts came directly from a dealershipAfter completing the work we test drove the vehicle numerous times and also put $worth of gasoline in the tank, which filled up fineDuring the whole time there was never an odor of gasoline inside or outside of the vehicle. My car has never been the same since they looked at the car. I am going to take my car to another mechanic to get written proof.
