I am very disappointed that I am unable to help a VETERAN with a simple rate reduction streamline refinance because Carmel Financial will not subordinate a $5,000 loan to stay in 2nd lien position simply because the VETERAN is not "disabled". This is absurd. I've never heard of such a thing and find this to be discriminatory. Refinancing his first mortgage will save him $180 per month which will put him in a more secure financial situation and will help him to pay off YOUR loan quicker. This is a huge disservice to our Veterans who have a 2nd mortgage with Carmel Financial and can only refinance their VA loan if they are "disabled". I will refer this VETERAN to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
