I paid for an automatic car wash at this business' Nashua location in May 2013. When I exited the automatic car wash, my SUV was covered in an oily film. The attendant informed that they had ruptured a hydrolic line within the last couple of days, repaired it, and I was the first vehicle through since the repair. It was clear and obvious that the cleaning pads and wheels still had hydrolic oil on them and was now completely covering my vehicle in an oily haze. I filled out the required incident report and was instructed to get my SUV hand washed and detailed and would be reimbursed for it. I got the vehicle hand washed and detailed the same afternoon. I spoke with business' car wash rep and we verbally agreed on the phone that hydrolic oil on vehicle paint could have long-term adverse effects on a vehicles clearcoat and paint. We discussed my desire for the business to cover me in case my vehicle sustained any long-term effects on my vehicles exterior due to the hydrolic oil. The busness' rep agreed that they would make sure my concerns were satisfied. However, after several phone calls without out a response, the rep sent me a text message saying the only thing they could offer was the reimbursement for the handwash and detail. They also said the only way I would receive the money was if I signed a legal document absolving them of all past and future wrongdoing. What this means is that if the paint on my SUV starts peeling or fading, I'm stuck covering the cost of a new paint job and thus losing money on the residual value of my vehicle. This is all due to the fact that they sent my car through their car wash that had hydrolic fluid on the parts. None of my actions caused the hydrolic fluid to be put on my car but yet I am absoring 100% of the liability for their mistake. All of my recent phone calls have gone unanswered by those who told me they would take care of my concerns. At this point, I have not signed the letter and will be seeking legal advice.Desired SettlementI expect to be reimbursed for the handwash and detail, with no contingencies.I also think the business should live up to it's word and responsibilities and ensure no future damage to my vehicle's exterior. Two different employees from this business ensured that my concerns about future damage would be taken care of.
