My old hot water heater died in the middle of the night, completely fried (not surprising as it was over years old!), and I woke up to cold water and worry
I started to call places around Winnipeg to get quotes on how much it would cost and how long it would take to replace my hot water heater
I got quotes from businesses, with City Wide being one of themTheir quote was roughly the same as another local company in both time and cost (and both had been much better than some of the other companies...)
The customer service representative I initial talked to was wonderful, cheerful, and very helpfulShe explained what my options where, a quote of how much everything would cost, the warranty that the new hot water heater and the labor would include, and generally put my fears at ease
I called City Wide back after I had gotten the other quotes and decided to go with them (partly out of how close their offices are to my home, and partly due to the wonderful representative I talked to initially)This time I got a different representative, who was also extremely nice, and he was able to book me an appointmentHe said they they would be out in 2-hours to replace my heater
minutes later I got another call, the job they had been scheduled for canceled, and they where available immediately
Another minutes later the expert arrived at my home, with the new hot water heaterI showed him the old one, he confirmed the faults with the unit, explained to me the proceed, and got started right awayHe deftly disconnected and detached the old heater, drained it, and started the install for the new one
We chatted while he worked, and he seemed like a friendly and extremely well experienced person
In no time at all the new heater was connected and workingThe old unit was brought up and placed outsideI was told someone should be by to pick it up within hoursI thanked him greatly and we parted ways
Here's the best part of this whole experienceFrom the time I called them back to schedule the appointment, to the time the install was finished, was a total of an hour and a halfminutesAbsolutely AMAZING service! And to add to that, the old unit actually got picked up less than hours later
When my old heater had died, I had been worried I would be without hot water for daysIn the end, I was out for less than hours (and most of that was me fretting over what to do and get quotes)
I would highly recommend City Wide to anyone in Winnipeg that's having any sort of hot water heater issues! They're the best in the city!
While they're not available 24h, they are still available most of the day (8am to midnight)
