There are times that a patient presents for care at our Medical Group or Urgent Care Center with a medical condition or situation that we are not equipped to properly handleWhen this occurs, and the care required exceeds our provider's scope of practice, it is our policy to refer patients to the Emergency room or call if the patient is not assessed to be stable enough for private transport. An example of this would be if a pediatric patient presents and the medical provider on duty is not credentialed to provide care to a pediatric patient or if the care needed can't be provided with our equipment or limited lab/radiology servicesIn a serious situation, the pediatric patient would be Stabilized until Emergency Services arrived to transport the child to an appropriate level of careIf emergency transport is not required, the person bringing the child in for Care would be asked to take the child to the Emergency Room for careEvery single person who seeks care at our facility is triaged and assessed by the provider prior to being sent to the ERThis patient was assessed by a medical doctor and it was his clinical judgment that the patient be privately transported to the ER to receive care that he was unable to provide given the limitations and differences of an Urgent Care vsan Emergency Room with Pediatric SpecialistThis customer has also submitted the same concern through our website and she was contacted by a manager to discuss the concern on 7/21/The customer also filed a concern on social media stating that he felt that the child was refused care because he was Spanish and didn't have insurance(see attached)Nova Medical Group serves as a medical home to [redacted] County Free Clinic patientsWe provide services and care to those patients who do not have insurance, free of cost The customer concern about method of payment or race did not serve as a factor, at all, on why this child was not seen in the Urgent Care on 7/15/2014.Respectfully,Heather N, RN, MSN, CNL

Every single person who seeks care at our facility is triaged and assessed by the provider prior to being sent to the ER. This patient was assessed by a medical doctor and it was his clinical judgment that the patient be privately transported to the ER to receive care that he was unable to provide given the limitations and differences of an Urgent Care vs. an Emergency Room with Pediatric Specialist.
This customer has also submitted the same concern through our website and she was contacted by a manager to discuss the concern on 7/21/14. The customer also filed a concern on social media stating that he felt that the child was refused care because he was Spanish and didn't have insurance. (see attached). Nova Medical Group serves as a medical home to 107 [redacted] County Free Clinic patients. We provide services and care to those patients who do not have insurance, free of cost.
The customer concern about method of payment or race did not serve as a factor, at all, on why this child was not seen in the Urgent Care on 7/15/2014.Respectfully,Heather N, RN, MSN, CNL
