Review: Novant Health Lewisville Family Medicine:Before I signed in to be seen by a doctor I made it very clear I was self pay and that I wanted to know exactly what charges I would incur during my visit and would pay for them the day of my visit. I did not want any bills sent to me after my visit and I was told by two employees there would be no additional charges. Otherwise, I would have left and gone elsewhere.I had my visit with the doctor and he ordered lab tests. I then proceeded to make my payment. Again, I told them I wanted to pay all the cost today. The employee worked up the billing for my visit and lab test. She then asked me to sign a paper that additional cost may incur. I told her I would not sign the paper and again reminded her I made it clear when I walked in that I did not want any additional billing, I wanted to pay for everything now. She even brought in another employee from the office to verify the charges were correct. I promptly paid in full. I asked the employee to write on my receipt that all charges were paid in full and she did.Then guess what? A bill for arrived for $30.00 and my name was spelled two different ways as the patient and responsible party. Then I receive a call to verify my billing address and another bill arrived for $99.00. I then called and spoke with [redacted] in billing for Novant and we discussed the bill. She said she would call the practice and ask about the situation. When we spoke again she said even though it showed written on the receipt as "paid in full" there had additional charges and suggested I call [redacted] or [redacted]. I did call, and was forwarded to [redacted]'s voice mail. I left a message for [redacted]. I was not called back by [redacted] from Lewisville Family Medicine. [redacted] from Novant called. She said the practice told her there were additional test which cost $99.00. I asked her why she was calling since I had called [redacted]. She said the practice wanted her to call since she had spoken to me previously. I asked her to have someone from Lewisville Family Medicine call me to discuss the situation since I had called and they obviously did not want to speak with me.Then I spoke with [redacted] from the practice. She also acknowledged that the bill showed "paid in full" and that the staff did not have the authority to write this on the bill and she would use this as a training exercise in the future. She said additional test were done since my original test came back negative. I was sent back and forth between [redacted] with Novant and [redacted] at the practice. Even after acknowledging that I had only seen the doctor with the agreement all charges would be paid that day I explained the After speaking with her about everything above she said it does not matter. Novant is a corporation and you still owe for another test. I received a call from someone in the office after my test returned. I was told the doctor had no idea what the problem was and suggested I go to a GI specialist. By the time I recieved the call the stomach bug had gone away. To sum it up in my opinion my level of care during my visit was substandard. I spent at the most 10 minutes with the doctor and nothing was prescribed. After several hundred dollars I received no relief, an attitude from the staff and a lot of aggravation. Since I was told multiple times from the staff there would be no additional billing and the payment on my bill was marked as "paid in full" the $99.00 payment should be returned and I expect an apology.Desired Settlement: I am not asking for the the entire visit to be reimbursed, but since I made it clear before any services were rendered and since I was told multiple times from the staff there would be no additional billing and the payment on my bill was marked as "paid in full" the $99.00 payment should be returned and I expect an apology.
