Review: On october 1st 2014 I was contacted by a "personal locator" named Christina H[redacted]. She alleged to be calling out of florida and had some papers to serve me. she provided a partial docket number claiming to be in reference to a litigation against me for a debt from 2012. the conversation became strange when she stated that her employee attempted to serve me at work, then read off an address. this is not my work address, but rather a family members house. I happened to be at that location at the time of the call and of course no documents were ever served to me. she then gave me a phone number of ###-###-#### to settle the claim. I called that number with the partial docket number she provided me which turned into a claim number from this alleged company who identified themselves as NRA LLC. They allege that a [redacted] had deposited $300 into a checking account in 2012 ending in xxxx That account was closed in 2012 by me due to identify theft issues. I explained this to the gentemen I spoke with and he informed me to send any documentation to him via email, including a police report. I asked for a proof of debt via mail, as allowed by law. he claimed he was unable to do that but could email me instead. I allowed him to email me, and what I received was a very elementary looking document obviously created with microsoft word, with very vague contact information on it . I still have this email saved. Before sending him ANY personal information, I wanted to try and legitamize the debt. Here's what I have found. After sitting with a branch manager at a bank of america location, we determined that no funds from [redacted] were ever deposited into that account. I found it strange that a collector would have their office in florida yet use a california phone number. I also found it odd that a "personal locator" reading off obviously vague information about me would act as a liasion between me and that company. I contacted a company in Florida who also uses that PO Box and was told that they are the only company on that PO BOX, having never heard of NRA LLC. I also found it strange that their name bears a striking resemblance to NRA Group, LLC out of [redacted] PA. I contacted NRA Group LLC at their main [redacted] location and was quickly told that this claim was definately not from them and they have had a few complaints similar to mine originating from this outfit in Florida. This alleged personal locator contacted me again on november 1st, and after I informed her that as of October 1st, NRA LLC would not contact me pending documentation that I provide, she became belligerent. After hanging up with me, she immediately called my employer, at which point I picked up the phone and could hear her speaking with someone else in her "office", but she never spoke with me on that line, after hanging up she did not call bacckDesired Settlement: I have almost zero trust that this is a legitimate debt. Everything about this process so far screams fraud on their end. The personal locator, reading off incorrect information to me, then asking me to correct it. Claiming I had been attempted to have been served. Reading off a partial docket number ??? Florida company with a CA phone number. PRoof of debt email that looked like a 7th grade student could have come up with. Only listing a PO box as contact, a po box which is owned by a surgical group out of fort lauderdale. NRA Group LLC out of [redacted] telling me that this sounds like fraud and that I should contact you directly. And finally, no deposits on that old account that show a deposit from that company. If its a criminal organization then the authorities need to be involved, but I simply need them to stop contacting me. They have contacted my cell phone, my family members home phone and my employer.
