Review: I would not recommend anyone to this dentist office. I recently found out that I had to have a gum grafting procedure and called around my area to try and find one that excepted my insurance. I called Dr Patel's office and specifically asked their receptionist if Dr. Patel could perform gum grafting surgery. I was informed by this receptionist that she would be able to. After arriving to the dentist office, on time, for my appointment..... I had to wait. Finally, after being taken back to a room I was then left for over a half of an hour. During this period of time I looked around at the equipment and other decorations hanging around and started to think that Dr. Patel would not be able to help me with my gum issue. I then asked the dental assistant if Dr. Patel performed this sort of oral surgery and she couldn't answer my question. As I got up to leave Dr. Patel came in. I asked the Dr. directly if she performed this sort of surgery and she told me no and proceeded to take a look in my mouth. She then took me over to a small office and I explained what happened while making the appointment and I was told that she performed gum grafting, by her staff. I then asked if I would have to pay for this unnecessary consult. She went around the question and quickly wrote me a referrel to another dentist that would be able to perform gum grafting and hurrried me on my way. I did not feel right when I left this dentist office and decided not to use the referrel that Dr. Patel had given me. I went with another dentist that was not connected with this office. About three weeks later I received a bill from Dr. Patel's office for $100.00, and feel that this office conducts business poorly and have quite the racket going on. I was very upset when I received this bill and called their biling department. I was informed that it was my problem that I called and made an appointment with a DDS and not an oral surgeon and I was responsible for this bill, their office was NOT responsible for misinforming me when I asked direct questions. Needless to say, I will never use this dentist office for anything and will not refer them to anyone EVER! Learn from my mistake, Please! I feel taken advantage of. It is doctors/dentists that conduct business like this that give other's a bad rap. This certainly has left a bad taste in my mouth and I feel paranoid of the medical field. I am however very happy to have found a dentist that does not conduct business in this manner.Desired Settlement: I would like to not have to be responsible for this unnecessary bill.
