Review: Purchased a bed frame for $759.00 on 5-20-2013 and was told we could pick it up at the store when we were ready. when we went to pick it up they had sold the frame to some one else. They claimed to order another one but it has not been delivered yet. when we asked for a refund on 7-15-2013 they refused saying the product had been ordered and that no refund could be issued. We will never buy any thing from NRV Furniture againDesired Settlement: Cash refund in the amount of $796.95

Response:

To whom it may concern, August 20, 2013 [redacted] bought a Headboard, footboard and rails from another furniture company, (Hometown Furniture) at a going out of business sale on May 20th 2013, only putting a down payment of $350.00 with a promise to return the next Monday to pay the balance that was due. Hometown Furniture never heard from them again. Mr. [redacted] showed up at NRV Furniture almost two months later on July 11, 2013 and wanted the bed. I explained that Hometown Furniture was out of business, further showing him on the signed receipt from Hometown Furniture that Mrs. [redacted] signed stating All sales final, No refunds and that shipping may take up to 30 days, as this was a "Going Out Of Business Sale" As a courtesy to him, NRV Furniture tried to help him receive the bed without losing his down payment by processing the balance due from Hometown Furniture. Mr. [redacted] was told that the bed would now be ordered. He appeared very happy about that and thanked us. About a week later he called stating that he wanted a refund. I told him that we had already paid for and ordered his bed. Mr. [redacted] stated that he did not want it now, he needed the money and would not be picking it up. I am sorry that he is not happy now, we were trying to help him, I have tried to talk with him, At no time has Mr. [redacted] ever purchased anything from NRV Furniture. If Mr. [redacted] would like his merchandise from his purchase from Hometown we will do all we can to help him. This "purchase" as it was not paid in full, was made from Hometown Furniture at a going out of business sale, not NRV Furniture. NRV Furniture.

Review: I purchased a bedroom set for nearly $800 from Hometown USA Furniture at their Fairlawn Location on 5MAY2013. I was unable to transport all pieces of the set at one time so I took the dresser, night stand and tv stand on Monday 6May2013 and then stored the headboard, footboard and supports and mirror at the store location until I could get it the following weekend. When I arrived on 12May2013, I was informed that a deliveryman had stepped on the footboard and broken it and they would ship me a replacement but I would be taking the remainder of the set at that time. I left them my name, number and address to ship the footboard. After about 2.5 weeks, I called again asking where it was, they said it was being processed at their warehouse to be shipped. A few weeks later, I received a call from a woman who told me that it was shipping this week. I finally received my footboard the first week of October 2013 and it was broken in transit. I filed a claim with the shipping company who forwarded it to the furniture store (now relocated and known as NRV Furniture but owned by the same individual). It was determined that it was broken at no fault of the shipper or furniture store but by the transportation process. I was contacted NRV furniture and spoke with the owner and manager who assured me through email and phone correspondence that I would receive a new footboard. I was told throughout October, November and December that they were in the process of ordering the footboard and it needed to be shipped to the store. Then I was told that it was going to be shipped from the manufacturer directly. When I asked for tracking or confirmation number, I received nothing from NRV furniture. To this day, I still have not received the footboard.Desired Settlement: I want my footboard immediately. The headboard and rails are absolutely worthless without it.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Here is a copy of the email that I sent to [redacted], the general manager of NRV Furniture. I still have not heard back from her. Thank you for your help.

[redacted],

I have responded to you twice already and I saw your Revdex.com response in which you said you are awaiting a response from me. I communicated to the Revdex.com through a phone conversation that you DID NOT resolve the complaint when they called to ask if it had been fixed. In case you have not seen my texts, we DO NOT want the beds that you offered. They do not match. They are not even close. Here are your options. You can either give me the footboard that I am owed. You can give me a bed that matches my bedroom set our you can give me a new bedroom set. I dont care which option you go with but make it happen. I dont care about the financial costs incurred by you, NRV furniture or the owner. I dont care what resources are used to make it happen. Resolve this issue immediately. Be the manager. Make a decision. If you don't have the power or the will to make a decision, put me in contact with someone who can. Send me [redacted]'s phone number. I dont care but I want this resolved. I am not going anywhere anytime soon. I will continue to call and email until this is resolved. I will only turn up the frequency at which I contact you.

Feel free to pass this message along to [redacted].

Response:

We have been in contact with Mr. [redacted]. We got his response on the beds we had offered for replacement. Since this was a sale from a another company that is no longer in business and we at NRV Furniture, Inc. are still honoring the sale. We understand his frustration and feel bad for him. We have had many phone conversations with him and he has been very nice and understanding. We don’t understand the hostility received in the last letter. We replaced the footboard and unfortunately it was damaged during shipping when he received it which wasn’t our fault. We are doing everything we can to get it replaced again, but the vendor has quit responding to us and we even gave Mr. [redacted] the guy at the vender’s personal cell phone number. At this time we are still trying to get the matter taken care of. We even told Mr. [redacted] that if he would take the footboard to someone and see if it could get it fixed we would gladly pay for it.

Thank You

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The footboard I just received was the wrong footboard. It was not the correct style, it was for a twin bed AND it was damaged. This complaint IS NOT resolved.

Yes we are aware of this cause Mr. [redacted] text me the photos. We are truly sorry for this, we gave the manufacture the correct information and they shipped it from the manufacture directly to him. We have contacted the Manufacture to get this corrected.

Review: In may 2013 I walked into place of business and put down 400.00 dollars for a couch, coffee table set and a bed frame. I told the owner Randy kinder that I wouldn't need the furniture until June that I was moving into a new apartment , ..In June I was told that my furniture couldn't be ordered he wouldn't refunded my money as it stated at the bottom of receipt.so I had to pick out another couch that was 60dollars more. July I was told he had enough of an order to make the trip to NC to get my couch . Sept Mr. Kinder again told me he would be making a trip to get my furniture next week I ask him at that point to sign my paper receipt and to state my furniture would be delivered Mr Kinder then proceeded to scream and refuse to sign and told me to get out of his store. I called the company he order my couch from and was told an order was placed approx.Sept the 11th and wasn't paid for.I called nrv furniture to ask why my item wasn't paid for and was told to come get my refund I was a problem , he refunded the money for the couch with taxes and delivery charges included..at this point I didn't want the coffee table set but was told I had to take them cause they had them in stock at 104.95 that was with tax. On Sept.15 I picked up coffee and end tables from nrv furniture and tried to assemble, one piece was defective and to short on the coffee table therefore I couldn't put the table together ,I called the company and Mr Kinder told me they are mine and they didn't want to exchange the product . I continued to stay on the phone with Mr Kinder until he agreed to look at it ..On Sept 23 I took a police man with me and took the coffee table frame back but kept the glass Mr kinder at that point told me after he fixes this problem that I would be charged with trespassing if I came back to his store, he called Sept.23ner that evening and told me he would work out something.I still haven't heard back from him and its Oct. the 4th. Ive ask for a refund or and exchange but he continues to do nothing.Desired Settlement: AT this point a refund, but would settle for replacement.

To Whom It May Concern, [redacted] came to HOMETOWN USA FURNITURE in May of 2013 and put a sofa, end tables and a queen frame. She paid some down on it and had to pay out the rest. Hometown had all in stock but MS [redacted] didn't want to take any of it at that time. Hometown USA Furniture closed and NRV Furniture Inc. opened and we went ahead and helped her out by letting her keep paying monthly. She paid the balance out over several months. In those months she change her mind on which sofa she wanted. We told her when she paid off the balance we would order the sofa. She paid the balance off In September and at that time we placed the order. She then started calling our customer and called Revdex.com. So at that time we just refunded her money for the sofa. She received the end tables and coffee table in a box, which the factory sent a wrong piece so she brought it back with the police in tow. Told her it had to be reordered. We reordered the piece and called her to come pick it up and she sent a friend it at which time he broke one of the legs. So we reordered the table and we have called her to come pick it up. But at this time has not picked it up. Thank You Randy Kinder NRV Furniture Inc.

I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. whom it may concern.Im replying to the response of nrv furniture to answer nrv furniture's statement about ((they had the items in stock)) completely untrue the coffee table set and bed frame was only in stock. At this point I will reiterate my experience with nrv furniture. In may 2013 I walked into a place of business and put down 400.00 dollars for a couch, coffee table set and a bed frame. Ive ask for a refund or and exchange but he continues to do nothing.[redacted] In Mid- Oct 2013 I received a call to pick up my dining table at which time I sent a friend in to make sure the part fit , when assembling ,in the store.. he mentioned the part still was alittle short ,is what he told me...he said the sales person said you have to pull on the legs upon which he did and the leg broke. I continued to get the run around after many phone calls, finally I had my lawyer send out two letters .Oct 25 I received a call my table was ready . Nov 1 2013 I can finally say they sit in my home... To mention my couch ive re order from another company it arrives today Nov 1 and I recieved it in less than 30days ... . Nrv furniture did not help me, I have excellent credit and don't need to wait 4months to receive goods. The matter is now resolved and I would like to close this case. Regards,[redacted]
