On 7/18/2014 after a long conversation about putting taps so that I could perserve the life my brand new [redacted] the owner assured me that his work was of excellent quality and that my shoes were in great hands. Prior to meeting the owner I did read his reviews...one customer even stated that she has had work done on some high end items such as her [redacted] purse and her [redacted] as well. Needless to say I felt comfortable leaving my shoes in his care. Friday evening when I arrived to pick my shoes up I took them out of the dust covered and was horrified...literally almost speechless...my shoe has a black line across the designers name...black dye on the inside of the shoe...it's all red. It has been cut on the side. When I questioned the owner about the dye on the red part of my shoe his simply replied you can see that? Long story short I paid the owner a visit on Saturday. No apology made after I told him that he DESTROYED a brand new pair of 625.00 shoes. Shoes that had never touched concrete. Destroyed. In his words"I think your shoes are fine". I would like to be reimbursed by this owner as these shoes have NEVER been worn and are now destroyed. Please advise or help me resolve this issue as I can not eat nor sleep and cry when I think about this matter. I did not attend any of the two functions that Friday. I am literally sick and even more heartbroken because of his lack of concern and carelessness as a cobbler. I have had to wait over a year or more to make this purchase #1. making sacrafices to afford them 2. Therefore, I was deeply saddened by my customer's complaint of the outcome of service (I performed) on July 18th 2014. She came in on Friday morning the 18th and expressed wanting to get the soles of her (CL) shoes protected from scuffs marks. I explained the process thoroughly and showed her the materials I would be using. She said she understood and agreed on the completion of services. She returned on Friday evening to retrieve her shoes, she inspected them and inquired about a black speck on the bottom sole of the shoe (approximately the size of a pin dot) but other than that she expressed satisfaction with my performance /sole guard protection on her CL shoes. There were two [redacted]s present when the customer inspected her shoes and can verify the work I performed and her satisfaction (initial) on the shoes. She returned on July 19th 2014 with the latter complaint of a black line across the sole of the shoe (designer name). The service she requested entailed covering the sole of the shoe with a sole guard protector/ red. A cut on the side of her shoe was never told to me. I have performed sole guard protection service on many clients' shoes/ CL and they were highly satisfied with the outcome of my performance. I performed the service the customer requested with I integrity and care. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Mr.Hooper was very well aware that I was not satisfied with his work. How could one be satisfied with black dots on the red sole of[redacted]'s...which happens to be[redacted]'s trademark. Black ink or lines across the sole of both shoes is not caring for a client's property. Mr.[redacted] knew upon my inspection of the shoes that I was dissatisfied. Mr.[redacted] was aware the very next day upon my return that I was very dissatisfied. No effort of correction or reimbursement was offered. Anyone who goes through great lenghts of sacrafice and saving money to purchase these shoes would be saddened and distraught by Mr.[redacted] carelessness and lack of knowledge of his craft. Black ink on the red soles of[redacted] is NOT satisfactory to anyone. A Proffessional [redacted] would have gone through great lengths to cover or protect the red lacquer on my shoes. Mr.[redacted] may be able to perform simple work on shoes...but, should not be allowed to practice his craft on high end shoes. Since, Mr.[redacted] claims that he was not aware of me being a dissatisfied customer after I complained on Friday and returned again on Saturday...which he told me" he didn't see anything wrong "...is he willing to do ?
