I have used Nu-Look three times over the years, and while their work has been good, the sales experience urges caution to anyone looking for their servicesThis last time it was it for me, I received a phone solicitation for 1/price windowsThe phone rep stated over and over again that this "special rate" had been reserved for meWhen their sales rep showed up, he made no attempt to bring up the 1/rateHe gave me a price so far out of reason it was ridiculousFor get about the 1/price stuff, it is nothing but a scamThey finally brought the price down to a reasonable point but the staged "call to the boss" was predictableCalling these guys car salesman would be an insult to car salesman
I had an excellent experience with Nu LookI contacted them through the Revdex.com website, where they have an A+ rating, for an estimate because my next door neighbor had a great experienceI was skeptical of the radio ads, and knew the sales tactics for the industry, and was prepared to stand firmBeing an educated consumer is key when dealing with home improvement industriesI was honest and firm with the professional salesman, and we agreed on a priceSince several of my neighbors had recently installed roofs, I knew the going market price, and negotiated with that informationInstallation was almost exactly weeks from contract signing, exactly what the salesperson said it would beInstallation went smoothly and quickly, and my husband was very impressed--he checked in mid-day from work, and at the end of the projectOverall, I cannot imagine it going any more smoothly
The rude salesmen ignore "No Soliciting" signs and bother people at home, not respecting their wishes. This has happened on multiple occasions from this company. It is unacceptable.
We had Nu Look Home Design come out to give an estimate for adding Soffits, replacing Gutters and downspouts, wrapping exposed wood in aluminum flashing. The salesman came out to us and walked the property. Took measurements and seemed to know his job. Once his quote was finished we sat and he presented it to my wife and I. Once I reviewed it I told him I was not going to be making any decisions today and I would let him know. He said well wait. I have another quote prepared for a today price only. It was half of the original quote, but I had to sign today. Once again I expressed I would not be signing today. He advised me he could add a partial roof replacement for only a few hundred more. The salesman was very pushy in a nice way, however very pushy. He would not leave. He was In my home for 4 hours. Constantly going outside to make phone calls to delay his stay. I would be very cautious when calling this company. They say one thing and do the opposite.
We are in the market for a new roof due to the storm damage in July 2015. This company was our 3rd estimate. Each of the previous estimates were just that, an estimate for us to compare. They gave us the estimate and told us to call them if there were any questions and left us to decide. Not NU Look. The sales person did the exact same as the previous 2 companies, measuring and product presentation. Unlike the other companies the salesman would not leave without a sale. When his estimate was presented I told him he was too expensive even though NU Look's radio ad stated half price in the summer months to keep their roofers on the job. Bull! He asked me if his price was in the ballpark. I told him he was so far out of the park he was beyond the parking lot. He then tried to persuade us to sign, stating his expert company owned employees, his expert planning staff, and their over the top guarantee were superior to every other roofing contractor. Still we said no! He then stepped outside to talk to his boss. He came back in and dropped the price nearly $2000.00. It was like dealing with an automobile dealership. Need we say more? Please do your homework and get reasonable and reputable estimates. Needless to say, our 2nd estimate from another company was $2500.00 less than NU Look using the exact same material. We should not have to pay for their advertising campaign. Beware with this company.
Had a fantastic experience with Nu Look installing gutter and trim work on a home in Alexandria, VA. They were professional from start to finish, kept me informed every step of the way, and cleaned up well after the job was done. Couldn't have asked for better customer service, especially in an industry where negative experiences are so common. I have and would definitely recommend their services to anyone looking for a reputable company with good people recommending it.
Misleading sales practices on roofing.
The sales person did not know that they could not purchase materials that match the existing roof.
Materials were ordered to replace 1/2 of roof and when the install team arrived, they notified us that the material would not match the rest of the existing roof.
The company will accept no fault and claims the customer did not request shingles that would match the style of the existing roof.
