Greetings:
Please allow me to express my thanks to the Revdex.com for sending me the aforementioned letter of complaint and allowing me to defend our little local Midtown Reno store
I am Sophia, owner of Hello YogaI was aware of the incident
because my store manager notified me when it occurred
She mentioned that a day earlier, this individual had purchased one of the Spiritual Gangster T-Shirts, from my daughter who was attending the store when he came in
We have been taken advantage many times in the past so we've had to refine our return/exchange policies, especially because we're a small enterpriseWe don't have the luxury to be as relaxed with returns and exchanges like big corporations
We are small, we are new and we are localI would daresay that most small local retail stores in Midtown Reno share the same Return/Exchange policies
Given that, we are aware that when something doesn't achieve a desired outcome, there might be customers coming in requesting an exchange or returnIf a return is the only option, we offer a gift card for the amount of the purchase so they can return at a later date and purchase something different if nothing in the store appeals to them at the moment
We also have non-clothing items in the event a specific size wouldn't be feasible
My daughter informed me that this individual purchased the T-shirt saying how happy he was that we had his size (obviously the size was not 2X like he mention in his complaint) and without actually stating what his size is, he bought it without trying it on(we have fitting rooms available at the store) He did not asked knowingly that the T-shirt was not a 2X if in the event the T-shirt would not fit what would the store policies be
Just to be perfectly clear, our Return/Exchange policies are posted in three different locations throughout the store where customers can easily read themThey are by no means hiddenThe same information also appears at the bottom of the receipt
He told my store manager that he wanted his money backShe explained our return policies and he acknowledged having read the receiptHe did not want to exchange it; he did not even take the trouble to look around for something else and was rudeOne of our returning customers who happened to be present was astonish how rude this individual was as you can probably sense in the way he has gone about the incident and the way he expresses himself
My store manager made an effort to be courteous and offered him a gift card for the amount of his purchase and he left the store saying that we should just give the gift card to someone else, as he posted with his own words on the Google reviewHe left without the T-shirt and without the store credit
The purchase was for $plus tax (7.725%) of $2.94, so the receipt total was $on May 27th
He never tried to contact me (the owner) and talk to me about the incident to figure out how we could work this outInstead he went to a lot of trouble to write a negative review on Google (repeating the term Rip-off) and registered a formal complaint with the Revdex.com trying to affect in a very negative way a small business
We did not rip him off and we have never rip off any of our customers
We did not force him to buy the T-shirt, he knew that the size was not a 2X at the time of purchase, he did not try it on and he aknowledge the store policies when he tried to return the T-shirt
The brands that we carry are legit, high quality and made in the US (mostly) and non of our items are overpriced
We try our best to make ALL CUSTOMERS leave satisfied with their purchase but unfortunately, we are unable to please everybody as this complaint clearly shows
We take complaints seriously because we care about our customers and about the quality and customer service at the storeWe are learning, we are growing and we are evolving
We have had great reviews and many happy repeat customers that love the store and love the Customer Service we provideI invite you to read some of the other reviews posted out there
I would be happy to post a photo of his receipt as well as the photos of store policies for people to see it and would love to post his Google review to show how he says in his own words he left the store without the credit asking the manager to give it to someone elseHe left saying, "Keep my $40!"
I am deeply connected to the Yoga community and I'm not aware of ever seeing this individual and neither have my employees who participate in Yoga at various studios in townOur greatest supporters are members of the Yoga CommunityI myself do Yoga and I'm working in completing my hours of Yoga teacher training
Reno is a small town and I'm sure we will meet in a class sooner or later
It seems this individual is extremely bitter and wanting to harm a small local business because the policies did not suit himI would question his "yogi" attitude as well as he has questioned oursHe is welcome to come back and pick up his gift card from the storeWe are willing to honor his return but following our store policies on a $store credit
