This is a flat roof for a balconyIt is just under one square or 15' wide by 7' out from the
house, approximatelyEach row of shingling is 3' so there are two full rows and then the last row up against the house is just several inchesThere is a wrought iron railing on the three sides
We did remove the roofing material down to a solid deck from original constructionthe deck was plywood with an adhered underlaymentAtop this we started with new roofing OSB x sheetsthen we applied a self-adhesive base sheet to the OSB and a self-adhered cap sheet to the base sheetIt melds into an excellent one-piece roof system that has no mechanical fasteners to perforate the system anywhereThis is a recommended product for residential and commercial flat roofs
While setting the heavy railing at the lower part of the roof, the two posts up at the house wall wrinkled the cap sheet at the left and right ends of the roofThese wrinkles were just a few inches eachWe covered the wrinkles with a small patch as a temporary coveringOur intent was to return and install an entire new row all the way across the balcony at the top to cover the wrinkled cornersWe never got the chance to finish our job
We took pictures to show each procedure from tear-off through installationWithout telling us, *** called the city for an inspectionWe were not there nor were the pictures for the inspectionThe inspector was unfamiliar with the productHe neither passed nor failed the jobWe were recently contacted by the first inspector's supervisor informing us that he would take over the inspection process himself
We are in our 15th year of businessOur reputation is our most important assetwe regret ***'s misgivings and ask for the chance to finish the jobWe did use a skilled crew with a crew chief and the project manager did visit the job site and got on the roofThe job was competitively priced and includes an extended workmanship warranty and year manufacturer's warranty
Our hope is that we can open up communication and win ***'s trust backTo that end, I will send a letter to her with an apology and request to finish the job with a pledge to complete the job to her satisfaction
